Elizabeth Warren refuses DNA test to prove Native American heritage

As are a lot of Indian groups. And again sneaking someone's DNA having it tested then releasing the results could place you in legal jeopardy. The fact is she refuses to do so....why?

Sen. Kamala-toe Harris, D-Calif., will lose an effort to get a judge to dismiss a lawsuit over her abuse of authority as California's attorney general.

On Wednesday, a San Diego dstrict court judge indicated the allegations have merit and will go to trial.

" … it seems almost inconceivable the court could grant a motion to dismiss," District Court Judge Conzalo Curiel said, according to Courthouse News.

The lawsuit by Prime Healthcare Services, a national healthcare company, alleges that Harris imposed onerous requirements on its efforts to purchase another healthcare company. Prime claimed that Harris did this to benefit the Service Employees International Union, which was seeking to organize its workers. SEIU had donated to Harris's 2010 and 2014 campaigns for attorney general as well as her 2016 Senate.

a DNA test will not definitely verify native ancestry, two siblings could take the same test and one will show that native ancestry and the other won't...how long ago the ancestral linked occurred is significant as each generation will lose 50% of the genetics in question, so after 6 or 7 generations that ancestry may no longer evident in test results even though there was a genetic exchange...

my sister and I had DNA testing, the results came back different, mine revealed a remnant Melanesian ancestry from 200yrs ago(my grandmothers family had colonial missionary background in New Guinea), my sister's DNA showed no trace of it...so while a positive tests will confirm absolutely, a negative result is not 100% conclusive...

I use genetic testing at work, depending on what testing is being done its 98%+ sensitive.

No practical test is 100% sensitive and specific, but she could put this to bed even showing ANY genetically distinct native american DNA.

 

Sometimes I almost feel bad for her.

 

why does it matter, her personal ancestry is totally irrelevant... that is unless you're a racist then I suppose it matters to you...as it is she has nothing to prove to anyone

a positive test is confirmation but a negative result is not...any DNA links could be so insignificant that they no longer show in tests, only a paper trail or oral history may all that remains to link her to any native ancestry, there are people who can trace their heritage accurately over a thousand years just through church registries without DNA ...after 500ys of occupation of north america it's likely the majority of the population will have some indigenous dna...

if my future grand kids were to take a DNA test the percentage of my Melanesian DNA would be so small it could be confused as noise if it shows up at all...that does not negate their ancestry...
