I wouldn't worry about Musk running for office and stealing Democrazy. He was born abroad and is ineligible to be President.

Who on the right saw Elon Musk as a ‘savior’? They were just laughing at the idea of him stirring up the liberals on Twitter.

Sure, run with that if it gives the denial narrative more credibility.

    No one.

The Left sees fascists and plutocrats everywhere, and likes to hate on success because it undermines their belief that capitalism is a rigged system. Also, they know that the rich won't fight back with stupid one liners on stupid Twitter.

Neither Musk, nor Warren Buffet, nor Bill Gates, nor Jeff Bezos was born rich. Same with all rich professional athletes.

And you keep running with the ‘The right said Elon Musk is their savior’ fantasy.

Since when is wanting Musk to take Twitter equivalent to him being their “savior”? You are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here.

This is a giant public display of stupidity from and otherwise intelligent individual. Why did he sign the M&A before vetting the company? Twitter likely to sue him and try to force him to stick to his "more than fair offer."

That did occur to me as a possibility. It still does. (But what other stupid business decisions has Musk made?)

It's also possible that Musk is smarter than you and I and has his reasons.

One possibility: he talked this through with his legal team and either got bad advice on the feasibility of walking away, or figured he'd be able to settle out of court for far less than a billion, watch the stock tank, and then buy it on the open market at the discounted rate.

Or he wants to wreck the company and the platform because he sees it as a bane of society.

Twitter and 99% of the other platforms are about advertising revenue and selling search and key word data to Google and Facebook, etc.
If bots are creating phony “views”, then advertising revenue per visit is fictitious.
Musk v Twitter has zero to do with content. It only has to do with provable cash flow.

When individuals and hedge funds have the ability to move markets multiple times in a day, the world is already ****ed. The problem now, they have the US government (AKA the American taxpayers) to guarantee the "house" with bailouts. That's a self fulfilling tragedy.

I think he just wanted to let Trump back on and now it seems that Trump wouldn't come on anyway

Not all leftists hate rich people, that's an unwarranted stereotype. I hate rich people who use government chicanery to get rich and then bash poor people who are sick for not being able to work 18 hour days, like Donald Trump who wrote a whole BOOK on doing just that.

Elon is really backing out because he was looking to get the price per share lowered due to his claims, yet the only stock that dwindled was Tesla stock which impinged his ability to raise funds to buy Twitter.
