I believe that individual was banned for harassment, not for stating their opinion. I will have to see if I can find the story I read about it.

There is a difference in saying trans women/men are not women/men and spamming it or targeting other users.

I think one of the biggest issues with “anti-trans” posters — for the record I believe they should have 100% equal rights but shouldn’t be allowed to compete in opposite biological sex sporting events — they take it beyond opinion into harassment and ridicule.

He's already made a lot of money today. Twitter stock price went up when the news broke.

    He hasn't?

" Jen Psaki said the Biden administration is “in regular touch” with the platform to ensure correct “narratives” are promoted — elaborating on her Thursday admission that the White House is “flagging problematic posts” to censor.

At her daily press briefing, Psaki told reporters that the White House is “regularly” coordinating with Facebook and other social media giants on the “latest narratives dangerous to public health” that the administration thinks should be censored."

One of Twitters top execs quit today saying he wasn't working with Musk lol. He's going to make waves and hopefully end this delusion of truth. They literally killed the Hunter Biden story claiming Russian disinformation, now we find it's democrat disinformation. Whether we like it or not Twitter is today's news and I pray Musk puts an end to this Dem disinformation that's polluting this world. Anyone honestly think the Hunter stuff becoming public and chased down wouldn't have made a difference in the election? The left was so scared about 100k of Russian ads, well suppressing this was worth millions and it needs to stop, or our country will be led by dictators in the future.

Those who read forums like this and especially youtube will notice that many conservatives are just as authoritarian as the libos.

Cannot count how many times I read comments pertaining to wanting Trump to ban CNN or put this person in prison or arrest this person or that.

The idea is to have a free marketplace of ideas and not banning anything.

Wanting free speech for everyone, including progressives is not authoritarian. The problem with twitter is that it simply shuts down opposing arguments. Trans people, covid. Trump. Antifa, BLM. All are topics you have to tip toe around because taking a direct counter stance can get you silenced.

    That's authoritarian.

You are not understanding my post.

You responded to a poster who talked about banning Jen Psaki. What did you say? Nobody should be banned.

Of course I agree with that but there are a lot of conservatives(Trump supporters), perhaps half of them who are just as oppressive as the libs. They are all over youtube making comments like that. When Trump was president they wanted him to ban CNN and other media. Mitt Romney is obviously not a model conservative but he was a republican candidate for president and you have him calling Tulsi Gabbard a traitor.

Would you trust your civil liberties to evangelical Christians?

So my point is that Musk is a person who believes in the free market place of ideas he is not some conservative looking to get even with libos.

Well considering the b******* that conservatives have had to deal with with regards to social media being very one-sided I would expect a few people to be all what's good for the goose is good for the gander kind of opinion

Thank you for proving my point. So it is not about freedom of opinion and the free market place of ideas it is simply who is in power and who has control?

This is not about an obsession with Trump whether somebody hates him or loves him. He was obviously a polarizing figure. I do wonder why more moderates, conservatives, libertarians and simply people who believe in fairness have not done what Musk did. The Walton family. Larry Ellison. The Kochs. You do not need a controlling interest just enough to make the board take notice that shilling for one party and suppression speech is not acceptable.

Twitter just appointed Musk to the Board. They kind of had no choice.

No I am merely addressing your talking point regarding the opinions of some conservatives. I am conservative. I think everyone should have a voice. I know through experience that I am not alone in thinking this way as a conservative. I also think Elon feels the same way. So he's not about to suddenly silence all left leaning people. That would be bad.

But I wouldn't be shocked if Trump is allowed back on the platform eventually...so warm up to a return of the mean tweets.

We don't have to guess, Musk already said free speech was dying and may compete or buy a stake in twitter. Look it's disgusting watching the media perpetrate stories as fact that are propaganda and kill stories that are verified and kill posters posting facts. Anyone cheering those things on are cheering on the same thing every dictator in the world did. We're different and we need to stay that way.

My goodness you sound like a child.
    Was that Offensive?
    Fat people are slower.
    Offensive?
    Shut up men arnt woman.
    Offensive?
    Shut up you're black.
    Offensive?
You're white, dumb, slow, short, unattractive down right ugly, etc.
Declaring facts based on context can still be considered offensive. They won't offend me or someone like you, but then again you may not suffer from extreme anxiety, or other conditions that trigger twitters TOS for bullying.

My question is why do you guys even care if you don't use it? Why would you support a company that limits your right to offend, or spam?

You really get uptight when an oligarch has real American values. You better stick with George Soros and HIS ideas.

    So what.
Twitter isn't any more "authorotarian" than PF (or any other privately-owned social media entity).
    Rules are Rules.
Anybody who doesn't like Twitter's TOS can move on and go elsewhere.
    ^Problem solved.

Men are not women is not offensive. It's just a state of fact. Declaring this in the face of society trying desperately to change this fact is not offensive.

She didn't say Shut up, men are not women. This was not nor should be bannable. Not everyone is on board with this new declaration that "trans women are women". It's a hot topic that's debated. You cannot ban those who disagree with that statement. That's not free speech.

Or you could change the rules to allow free speech. I am free here to state or declare my position that trans women are not women. Or men are not women.

I have many times. And to my knowledge not once have I received nor should I receive and infraction for doing so.
