When America had a choice between a very successful businessman and a community organizer to fix the economy....
they went for the community organizer.

The left have no one to blame for Obama's complete lack of know-how, but themselves.

They're just too busy telling us the economy is booming, to realize this.

What is your hang up with the drug war? As I said, Obama is basically asking for $6 billion to extend unemployment. How about he propose some cuts to get it? If he thinks drug war, then propose it.

Fact is a leader would lead the discussion to find a compromise. Our leader takes a $4 million vacation.

Nope, they should have to do community service work for at least 16 hours a week. This way the taxpayers would get something for their money.

Simply because the right doesn't have any problem coming up with funds to pay for a drug war, but has problems paying for unemployment compensation in any at-will employment State.

Ok, so if you know republicans will not agree to cut funds from the drug war budget, then why not offer up something else? In fact if finding the funding is so important to democrats only, suggest cutting something you know republicans would support. Problem is I have not heard democrats say anything except that republicans will not extend it...again. The republicans say find the cuts. So find them.

I would agree if the cuts were solely made to the military. shouldn't be much of their budget either way.

I just get tired of the crap about republicans want people to freeze and starve. If this is so important to Democrats, it's $6 billion. Show us the cuts.

This would be a pain in the ass to enforce, and would prolong unemployment. You mention 16, but the proposals I've seen are in the 20-40 hour range. Definitely would cut into time spent looking for work. Also, what do you do to the laid off worker who is collecting $32 a week in benefits? Do they have to do the 16 hours a week as well?

Again maybe they will agree but since they didn't offer it up I am guessing they are not wanting to look there first anyway. But why you would just take $6 billion from the military without considering other possible options would puzzle me.

The military has deep pockets for starters; secondly, from my viewpoint cuts in other areas would have a negative impact on society as a whole.

You are correct; would you do the same if it would mess with your voter base?

Illegals would never be my voting base.
    Trust me on that.

That's the democrat's exploitation.... not the Conservatives.

Ditching our drug war is better than denying and disparaging a work ethic, as moral in modern times.

Only if we end the war on poverty first and give all the new drug zombies the freedom to sleep under a bridge without our interference.

Funny how they didn't give a crap about "paying for" the $100 BILLION PLUS in welfare they fell all over themselves to IMMEDIATELY appropriate to wealthy farm corporations this fall.

But I certainly have no problem with cuts to pay for unemployment extensions! Aside from this $100 Billion giveaway to the wealthy, there are the 800 military bases around the world that we certainly could close down a couple of them to help our own people.

This rhetoric from Republicans about "paying for" programs with money from everyone EXCEPT the giveaways to the wealthiest is wearing very thin with voters.

Perhaps, but regardless would you do the same thing if you were in his shoes?

Supposed they did end up on your voter base; would you do the same thing if you were in his shoes?

Ok fair enough, your view point. But your opponent disagrees, what now?
