Of course it won't. However Congress cannot tell other States whether or not they can prosecute someone for a crime on States books.

The reason is to put the decision in the states. Read the 10th amendment.

There is nothing stopping that... why does congress need to pass a law to allow people to travel between states?

some do not want to make exceptions for rape and the health of the mother

but I agree, cheap easy access to birth control is the best way to reduce abortions - and much of that starts with education

as Palin said, Abstenicence is "not realistic at all"

You need to read the final words in the amendment. It says that rights not included in the Constitution are; "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Now those last 4 words are important for they say that the people of ALL states can and should have rights that should be recognized in ALL the States. And the Congress is recognized as the Constitutional organ that speaks for all the people. You are saying that a whole class of rights are State matters ONLY willy-nilly when quite clearly many are not since they have no REASON to be held to in one State and abrogated in another

What is regional, local or even geographic at all about a woman's right to bodily autonomy? Why are anyone's inherent, fundamental and inalienable, rights different in Pennsylvania from Maryland?

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Read the WHOLE THING, not just the parts that support your authoritarian agenda.

Self defense is fine. But with rare exceptions, and in the majority of those the child in the womb is already dead, pregnancy isn't a life or death decision.

Yep and there will be states that support abortion up until birth, and states that sharply limit abortion. I don't like it but is is what it is. The only people who have benefited from legal abortion are Johns, Pimps, prostitutes, and lechers. None of whom add much to society beyond STDs.

And of course, even if the law were applied everywhere, it wouldn't end abortions. It would only drive them back underground as they were before Roe/Wade, and result in a great deal of harm.

I simply point out that Roe isn't the law of the land. Hasn't been since the 90s. So much fakery these days...

Wow, that sounds like a conservative.
Apparently you believe people have no rights if they are not self-sufficient.

In that case she'd get a medical exemption, as you well know.

The issue with that though is we need an actual doctor to diagnose it. And this doctor's license needs to be on the line in case he starts abusing this public trust.

Red states will ban all abortions, even to protect life of mother.

Congress can make it illegal to punish someone for getting an abortion in another state.

Congress has control of all things interstate.

Too bad we can't do that with citizenship, which in my opinion carries a burden of public trust.... including not authorizing yourself to make decisions for others when you carry none of the consequences of that decision.

Not talking about rights ...... this is abut fetal development. ....and stage s of.

Abortion has its place. But it should not be used as a birth control option. And this might be the core of the issue. HOW abortion is used.........and by whom.-and why. If a person is old enough to be sexually active........they should use birth control.Early EDUCATION , EDUCATION , EDUCATION is imperative.

The issue of abortion is not absolute. So terms like "pro abortion" or "anti abortion" are to o narrow and each situation must be evaluated / decided on its own facts.

States can't even punish someone for going to another state to get an abortion. Why do you need a federal law? What they hell are you even talking about? lol
If its a crime to do something in state A, but legal in state B, State A can't charge you with a crime for doing something in state B. OMG lol

I hate to ruin your baseless fear mongering, but surely the amount of money put into funding Planned Parenthood in those few states that would outlaw abortions, could easily pay for bus tickets for the poor to go to another state to have the procedure. There would be plenty of money left over in fact.

Only for things that are commerce related. If a State determines that its murder, Congress has no say.

So would you be okay with criminalizing women who do not use birth control, if they are planning on getting an abortion in the event of pregnancy?

Or how about at least keep them under special supervision if they're a repeat aborter.

If that was the case, no woman ever would be allowed to get an abortion.

Oh, but you mean if an individual even reaps 10% of the consequences from his/her choice, they should be allowed to make that decision.
