mark sampson fired for racism towards Eniola Aluko. Its good that the Football Association have acted but it is damning of UK society when a racist can get to the pinnacle of industry. Its 2019 and this is still a major problem in the UK in all industries, let alone soccer which is the most diverse industry of all. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41326806
A few points of fact; He was the England Women's manager and was sacked back in 2017 for "inappropriate behaviour" with female players in a previous role (it doesn't seem to be public exactly what that entailed, but it presumably wasn't serious enough to be criminal). The racism allegations weren't the stated reason for the sacking as he'd been officially clear of that already. He did later admit (and apologise for) making inappropriate comments but the FA investigation suggested it was "ill considered attempts at humour" rather than conscious racism (still doesn't make it OK). This whole thing may have come to your attention because he'd brought an unfair dismissal case against the FA and they recently gave him a payout to settle the case just before it went to court. Again, the specifics don't seem to be in the public domain so we can't know exactly why he felt he had a case or why the FA chose not to fight it in court. All of this is easily searchable because that's how I found it (only being vaguely aware of his sacking at the time). None of this is to say your statements about racism are wrong in general principle.
The former football coach was cleared of any wrongdoing towards the black player. But he was sacked for intimidating a FA official with a metal pole at a women's national team match. An investigation found that the allegations made by Eniola Aluko were not true. Overall, Britain is not so racist, based on my own experience.
That wasn't why he was sacked because that investigation concluded long after he'd gone (though he probably would have been sacked for that if he hadn't already been). The stated reason for the sacking was the "inappropriate behaviour" with players at Bristol.
Even if it was "racism" (which it wasn't) don't you think it's a little ridiculous that he could get sacked for that?
