The usual garbage from the right wing gun nuts, most whom have never left their home sweet home. The reality is that the UK is by far the most popular destination for American tourists. Below are the official figurers for one month in January 2017 which is among the worst times to visit the UK, even we Brits detest our overlong winters.

    Quote:

The biggest growth has been in the number of visitors from the United States

More people visited the UK in January 2017 too, with 2.9 million visitors in total – a rise of 11 per cent from the previous year.

Overseas visitors to the UK in January also spent more on their trips than they had in 2016.

The amount spent totalled £1.5 billion, an increase of 15 per cent.

However, despite the UK’s rise in popularity with American visitors, the same cannot be said in reverse, apparently the Brits don’t care for Trumps America. End Quote.

All cities and large towns the world over have places in the where its not wise to hang around and you idiots select one incident to dub all Britons effeminate and weak because they don’t carry a gun around to prove that they are all heroes. Crap, real, men and women don’t need to carry a gun to prove their worth.

Pepper spray is not illegal in Germany, fake guns and historic guns (made unusable) are legal, buying a crossbow is legal, buying arms for sports or hunting is legal but you need a hunting licence or be member of a gun club and therefore you have to proof the knowledge about weapons.

It's very restricted to get a licence to carry a hidden gun.

Thank you for that informative and thoughtful post. If I were the OP, I would have a sense of shame for exploiting this poor kid's ordeal to score cheap points at the expense of British manhood (particularly as his thesis is invalidated by the circumstances).

As someone who is slightly built - even at 20, and even more so when I was 14 - I can understand his giving up his clothes when outnumbered by much larger individuals, and threatened with a knife. It was not in any way, shape, or form, a cowardly act. However, exploiting the child's distress and embarrassment is.

I am curious however, about the photograph - who was the photographer, and what was his/her purpose in photographing the event? Is this a staged re-enactment? The location does not appear to be a dark alleyway.

At any rate, using a child's ordeal to demonstrate some strange notion of national superiority is a less than admirable act.

It's not just the UK, or even worst in the UK. The European continent is sleepwalking into Islamic oblivion.

I can't think what answers there can be to the obvious question on the application form 'Why do you want/need a firearm?' [IMG]

You have to work in the security sector, a private person has nearly no chance to aquire a "Waffenschein", except your threaten like Salman Rushdie.

England Used to Be a Country of Men

And now they are a country of people...the latter is better.

BTW - my father was British.
