The Albany Times Union and conservative group Judicial Watch filed to unseal.
The DOJ has until Monday to unseal or give reasons why it shouldn't be unsealed.

How could you even get the idea that the DOJ would file, to have their own warrant unsealed, then have to answer the motion with reasons why it shouldn't be unsealed.

15%er? The **** is that supposed to mean?

Garland is their boss and said they wouldn't be opposing the motion to unseal: so its getting unsealed.

    I didn't make that claim?
How difficult is this for you to grasp?

You still can't read? I didn't make that claim, my dishonest and /or dyslexic chum. I said that the court had not ordered the records unsealed, but was requiring responses to a request to unseal. You apparently didn't read your own source, being too spun up to pay attention, and you claimed the court had ordered the records unsealed.

How embarrassing for you. Would you like to see your screw-ups again?

Meanwhile, the DOJ has made a motion to unseal the records. This tells me that Trump has been lying all along! Oh no!

Again: The judge ordered them to respond to the motion. They don't have to respond in opposition.
Please try reading the actual words in the article and not simply the rather incorrect headline.

It's playing defense by going on the offense, putting your opponent on the defense. It's sad how well it works.

    Merrick Garland Calls Trump's Bluff

    "
    August 11, 2022/

"Merrick Garland just announced that the government has moved to unseal limited parts of the search warrant used to search Mar-a-Lago, pending giving Trump an opportunity to object.

Garland cited the public interest, but also Trump’s disclosure of the search himself.

Although the government initially asked, and this Court agreed, to file the warrant and Attachments A and B under seal, releasing those documents at this time would not “impair court functions,” including the government’s ability to execute the warrant, given that the warrant has already been executed. See Romero, 480 F.3d at 1246. Furthermore, on the day that the search was executed, former President Trump issued a public statement that provided the first public confirmation that the search had occurred. Subsequently, the former President’s representatives have given additional statements to the press concerning the search, including public characterizations of the materials sought.

But he’s not asking to unseal the whole warrant.

On the contrary. He’s only unsealing precisely the documents that Trump already has in his possession: the cover page and Appendices A (describing this house) and B (describing what can be searched). Indeed, the motion notes that the FBI gave Trump these documents.

In these circumstances involving a search of the residence of a former President, the government hereby requests that the Court unseal the Notice of Filing and its attachment (Docket Entry 17), absent objection by former President Trump. The attachment to that Notice consists of:

    • The search warrant signed and approved by the Court on August 5, 2022, including Attachments A and B; and
    • The redacted Property Receipt listing items seized pursuant to the search, filed with the Court on August 11, 2022.
The government will respond to the direction of the Court to provide further briefing as to additional entries on the docket, pursuant to the schedule set by the Court.

Consistent with standard practice in this Court, the search warrant and attachments were each filed under seal in Case No. 22-mj-8332-BER prior to the search; the Property Receipt was filed under seal today. Former President Trump, through counsel, was provided copies of each of these documents on August 8, 2022, as part of the execution of the search.

These documents are precisely the ones that Trump could have released all by himself, but chose not to. He could object now. But if he did, it would make clear — as if all the refusals to release it to journalists hasn’t already — that it’s really damning.

Unless the Orange Clusterfk opposes it, that is. But I suspect it would be unsealed anyway.

Boy are the righties going to look foolish when the affidavit is unsealed. *LOL*

    Emphasis mine.

The judge has not ruled yet, instead he's laid out a time to have your arguments in so he can make a ruling.

DOJ isn't in the habit of publishing all of the details of its investigations before charges have been filed.

Read it yourself. It’s the DOJ’s motion.
There may be another motion already before the court, but this looks like a second one.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2022/08/11/...o-search-warrant-unseal-motion-doj/index.html

Either way, it is clear the DOJ wants it unsealed.

The question is whether trump will oppose the unsealing.

And the right question is: will Trump oppose the motion? And, in the end, it will be a court decision to unseal or not.

They are just going to shift the goalposts if that happens. Or change their story and say that, actually, it was corrupt to unseal . . . despite falsely claiming it was their idea to unseal in the first place. I've never seen these guys change their tune so rapidly. I mean, I'm used to them hypocritically changing their minds about ****, but at this point it is happening more than once per day.

It means nothing, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Until that has been proven to be true false or whatever. What is true and what is false these days? That's why I do my own research, rather than what MSM may or may not say.

Man, I almost want to take bets on what their next excuses will be. It's hard to keep up with, though.

So, let's see, if the judge grants the DOJ's request and unseals the warrant and the receipt, what will be the new excuse? I think they'll actually try attacking the fact that the judge granted the request, despite previously saying this is what they wanted.
