Agreed. Certainly a fascinating research avenue. Like I said, we're not there yet.
I did say that he doesn't look like the brightest bulb to me, but calling this a "vaccine" does strike me as a political ploy, given the context and his father's promise of one before the election. Maybe moronic Eric wouldn't be able to come up with this on his own, but some campaign operative told him "look, when you go there for the interview, make sure to slide in the allegation that your father created and took a vaccine and that's why he is well; a bunch of uneducated voters will gobble it up and will believe in it."

Two wrongs don't make a right.
Like I said, maybe he is too dumb to come up with this strategy on his own. But he's got handlers.
Exactly. Like you probably know because I've made my position known, it is my repeated and increasing frustration with the Trumps on this topic of the pandemic, that made Trump lose my vote. I harbor many conservative views... for strong borders, against illegal immigration, for a well-funded military, for the second amendment, for fracking and fossil fuels while we can't replace them with cleaner energy, for a tough stance against China, for capitalism, private initiative, and the free market, etc. So, I could have perfectly voted for Trump, including because his tax plan got me a $20,000 tax cut.

But he lost me on the pandemic front, and that's why I voted for his opponent (while also voting for Republican senator and representative, to provide checks and balances).

So, yes, it's been extremely irritating for me to hear him tout HCQ (fortunately enough, his doctors did NOT give it to him when he got really sick), spout other lies negating science, undermining the control of the pandemic, and now his son pretending that an experimental treatment that has been given to 10 privileged people is a "vaccine" that will be distributed to "anybody who needs it, for free;" not to forget, his son lying about his having something to personally do with the creation of this treatment,."

    -------------------

By the way, on another topic, I think you'll like to know that I recently exchanged email with Professor Paul Marik. He told me that he is happy to realize that his protocol or very similar ones is/are becoming the standard of care everywhere. He said he has great faith in the prophylaxis phase and said he is glad to learn that I'm following it not only for me and my family, but for my patients too, because he expects that people who follow it, even if they catch the virus, it will, save aggravating individual circumstances, be mild for the most part. I told him that I got a stock of ivermectin ready in case I catch it or my wife does, and I have a large supply of quercetin and zinc. He was glad to hear that. He finished by saying, "anyway, wear the best PPE you can get and do your very best to avoid catching the virus; it is nasty."

I think Professor. Paul Marik should win the freaking Nobel Prize of Medicine for his MATH+ protocol. He is actually saving countless lives. I'd say, long live American creativity, except that Professor Marik is South African, LOL.

Not disagreeing now just playing devil’s advocate. People who don’t hate Trump and don’t know the difference (or care) between “treatments“ and “vaccines” are going to vote for him anyway. People who hate Trump aren’t going to vote for him if he created, trialed, and delivered a vaccine to every American by next Monday single handedly from the White House. I just don’t see the payoff from a lie like that. But that’s politics I guess. Lie unless there’s a personal advantage not to. LOL
Yes! That’s my whole point in this thread. We all have to strive to maintain our integrity if we expect it of others.
That’s something I don’t understand about politics. How could you stand having “handlers”?
Our positions don’t differ by much. Trump made me thousands of dollars over the last few weeks I wouldn’t have made without his stance on trade. He did away with the individual mandate in the ACA. He put the brakes on environmental regs. that could have been used by a future EPA to take my business away for violations caused by “act of god” weather events I have no control of. I’m also a fan of continued use of fossil fuels in transition. Agree also on illegal immigration, military funding, and will add winding down boots on the ground. I’m thankful for his nomination of judges that are if not 2A friendly at least not anti 2A.

I’ve finally come to the point in my life I can’t vote for the lesser of evils anymore. So I can’t vote for Trump even though he’s clearly the lesser evil overall based on policy. I no longer care about infidelity, personality, body mass index, race, sex/gender, or age of a candidate. Most of those horses bolted from the stable long before I was old enough to vote. It’s just annoying background noise.

As I’ve said before, I’m opposed to all lying and misrepresentation of science. But I only have the time and energy to fight against the lying and misrepresentation coming from the people who admittedly want authoritarian control of my life. I try sometimes to call it out equally with non authoritarians, but it just doesn’t seem as important. If people want to be wrong, fine. But if they want to be wrong, tell me they are right, and then tell me I have to do their will based on their false pretense, it’s game on. Not just for my sake, but to hopefully save others from authoritarianism as well. At this point in my life it’s probably more for others because I’ve designed my life in a manner I don’t have to panic if “my guy” doesn’t get elected. I don’t have to be depressed, or angry, or euphoric based on elections. It was worth the effort.

    -------------------
That’s awesome. The videos and interviews you shared with me gave me a very favorable impression. What Ivermectin do you get? I’m very familiar with all the veterinary uses and forms but completely ignorant on human use. I have 30 liters of the “topical” ruminant stuff in my basement but I ain’t drinking that. :) If I’m desperate I’ll take the green apple flavored horse paste. I’ve been tempted to try it pre-Covid just on the merits of its aroma.

I remember in one interview I listened to his comment on PPE. When asked the question “mask or no mask” he said something like “when I go to bed I’m not wearing a mask”. Cracked me up as I’d just been called a pseudoscience pusher for recommending mask use at home. :)

Getting way off topic but I’ve met a dozen or so South Africans the last couple years and except for not being able to speak proper English (kidding) they are very much like traditional hard working, family oriented, freedom loving Americans. Their “pioneer“ genetics are undoubtedly similar to ours.

Yes, the fact that what they say are lies has never stopped politicians of any party. That's what they do. It is rare to see really honest ones who have integrity. I think John McCain possessed integrity. Colin Powell too but then he got into that disaster of the WMD in Iraq. I was disappointed, thinking "Et tu, Brute?" So, the Trumps. They lie by default. And I do think they earn some votes with their lies. Say, someone is not the greatest cult member, is just a sympathizer, but is not a high information person, not very educated, means well, likes some of the ideas behind the Trump administration, but feels frustrated with the pandemic and reluctantly decides to vote against Trump or just not vote... then hears something like "my Dad created and took a vaccine and now is well" and not knowing any better, says "oh good, so I can vote for Trump after all; I was thinking of going fishing on election day due to this mess, but hey, I'll go vote after all if my main objection is over." Will a lot of people think like this? Not many; the vast majority of his followers will vote for him no matter what; there's the thing about shooting someone on 5th avenue... but a few may be influenced by this kind of lie and every vote counts in this tightly contested election, so to be on the safe side, they keep lying. And it's not like the other side doesn't lie too... but I do feel that the Trump side lies more. After all, that's the side that created the "alternative facts" justification.
You are right, of course. And I need you to keep me honest, too... I tend to be in-between getting too technical and losing the audience (some do ignore what I say on the accusation that it is Gish Gallop, others say TLDR, others just get puzzled) or simplifying it a bit to be better understood, but often you bring me back to a more complete picture and more nuances; the thing, though, is that when we go full-blown like this, we end up just talking among ourselves and a handful of other people here, because the majority of posters here are not particularly equipped to understand the sciences. And that's not being arrogant; it's just a fact. Like I said elsewhere, I can be humble too; there are many topics I know nothing about and I gladly acknowledge it... but Medicine obviously isn't one of them, haha.
The term I used is a bit sarcastic but they all have PR consultants and campaign managers, so I can perfectly think of such a person approaching Eric and saying "do pretend that your father created and took a vaccine, we may earn at least a few votes this way."
It's not for nothing that I like you; we agree in many ways.
Good for you. In my area of professional activity, though, official policy does influence a lot what happens, so I have to take a stance and support the side that seems at least a bit less disastrous for public health.
Again, good for you. I'm sincerely happy that you're doing well and you've achieved this level of independence. Unfortunately we do have more disadvantaged fellow citizens and I do worry for them. Like I said in another post, I do my best trying to advocate for them when I can, and I work through charitable non-governmental organizations to compensate a little for the lack of an official safety net for them. Isn't it the Christian thing to do?
Oh no, don't do it! The FDA has strong warnings about a human using any form of ivermectin destined to animals, and they mention severe reactions. I guess some sort of adjuvant is species-specific. I don't know much about veterinary medicine formulations but most likely the warnings are correct. Ivermectin is a prescription medication for humans, available in any pharmacy. The human formulation is called Stromectol and comes in 3mg tablets. The dose for Covid-19 post-exposure prophylaxis or treatment of the mildly symptomatic phase is 15mg to 24mg single dose (at least one hour before or two hours after a meal given that food interferes with its absorption) depending on your body weight. Talk to your primary care doctor about it. I know you say that you don't want or like to go see doctors... but you should, my friend. They can do some other preventative screenings too. Just on one topic alone, as a farmer, you are probably exposed to a lot of sunlight, so it would be good to have an annual physical and look for skin lesions that could be pre-cancerous (melanoma).
Sure, mask use in households would be helpful to decrease the contagion... but like I said, it's a moot point for me. I don't wear a mask either when I go to bed especially in the company of my beautiful and sexy wife... And I fight the battles I think I can win. It's already an uphill battle to get people to wear masks when they go out in the community, let alone in their homes...
Probably true. Hopefully we don't share the racism part, though... haha. [I couldn't resist the poke; but of course what I said is a generalization; there must be many of them who are not racist].

This is what I asked, when on the computer not on a pad last night punching fingers, note that #2 is six paragraphs down the article, and #1 in an article on “Antigen vs Antibody – What Are the Differences?” is like way down there, not going to bother to count:

    1) "Vaccines contain antigens which stimulate the B lymphocytes of the immune system to respond by producing plasma cells which secrete disease specific antibodies (Primary response)." https://www.technologynetworks.com/...n-vs-antibody-what-are-the-differences-293550

    2) "The monoclonal antibodies from the two companies are clones of potent SARS-CoV-2 antibodies that can “neutralize” the virus in test tube studies. Researchers plucked the genes for these antibodies from humans who recovered from COVID-19 or from mice artificially infected with the virus." https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/09/provocative-results-boost-hopes-antibody-treatment-covid-19

CDC: "Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease."

You expect the unwashed Eric to tell the difference between a vaccine (1) and shoving a clone (2) in there to do the same thing?

    *****

If “The issue is that Eric Trump lied about his father having 1) created a vaccine 2) taken a vaccine.” (CenterField)

“Is he just dumb and unsophisticated? Or is this politically intended to create in the minds of more naïve voters, the impression that there is a vaccine?” (CenterField)

Let us try and figure out why Eric Trump said his father created a vaccine, and had taken a vaccine.

Created a vaccine, I have very little idea of what would be running through Eric’s mind, except maybe bleach, as for had taken a vaccine, that I think is obvious, he couldn’t tell the difference between (1) and (2) above, which is why I asked the question.

Was it a conspiracy, “to create in the minds of more naïve voters, the impression that there is a vaccine?” Well, we know there is vaccine, more than one, they being tested, and foreigners already have them, but aside from how a … would say when a vaccine is used, and what it does in (1) above, Eric is as I said, “unwashed,” that is ignorant but he is not plebian.

The movie here is not “Idiocracy,” or “At the time I wouldn't believe that our country would actually turn into an idiocracy. Oh boy, I was mistaken. I underestimated the ability of stupid people to become dominant.” (CenterField) The issue is simply ignorance, which could be just like someone highly educated in other fields with the same IQ as a …, but ignorant of say something like a foreign language, like astrophysics vs. biology. Maybe Eric Trump is dumb, or unsophisticated, a green grasshopper, ignorant, and inexperienced… Ignorant does not mean stupid, and Eric Trump saying something certainly does not mean the ability of stupid people to become dominant has happened.

“Do the same thing” --- (1) is a vaccine, which as I quoted, “contain antigens which stimulate the B lymphocytes of the immune system to respond by producing plasma cells which secrete disease specific antibodies,” (2) is NOT a vaccine, it does not do what (1) does, and the sciencemag says they “are clones.” Basically in the vernacular of the unwashed and romantic, with (1) the injected make the things that causes the spiky death ball to scream in horror, with (2) it is like someone else’s bleach (don’t panic) does the job. What is the goal of (1) and (2), come out of a Pandemic alive; to the “unwashed” they both do the same thing.

It doesn’t matter to the vernacular of the “unwashed” whether it was futuristic fantasy “machines of creation” running around in there, or a vaccine and the body doing the work, or some "bleaching" by someone else's stuff like monoclonal antibodies afterwards; Trump LIVES.

    FOUR MORE YEARS…

You know me. Sometimes I have to look things over and think it through. Now what follows applies to what we’ve been discussing—Trump misinformation on health/science, not necessarily other issues although it likely does to some degree.

So, yes it appears Trump and Co. are the worst offenders. But for two related reasons, both hinging on the journalistic profession.

First, we don’t see much fact checking of the anti Trump side. Remember I don’t consume much MSM outside of what is discussed here, but from my observation you just see Trump errors pointed out more regularly than others. Perhaps FOX fact checks progressive politicians, I don’t know. That’s a blind spot for me.

Second, and more importantly is the phenomenon I’ve been lamenting here at PF for a few weeks. In essence, politicians on the anti Trump side of the fence don’t have to comment on healthcare issues or science. They realize they can pass that baton to willing surrogates, again the media. For instance, Biden can say “I follow the expert’s advice” and let media run with it from there. Then, media does that and we get treated to a cornucopia of lies, misrepresentation of facts, spin, and incorrect reporting on actual research from the experts. It’s actually quite clever. The public gets the misinformation and the politicians stay “squeaky clean”. Nobody questions the media because they cited a formal study or an “expert” in their work that is otherwise garbage propaganda or spin.

Bottom line is “science” gets trashed by everyone for political or monetary gain. But in reality I don’t believe the Trump side supplies more misinformation, it’s just presented far less adroitly.
I don’t get the TLDR thing. There are a couple people that say I’m too long winded as well. It’s my understanding this type of forum is supposed to consist of arguments well developed and supported. If people want abbreviated ad hominem it’s my belief based on my limited knowledge of that medium Twitter may be a better platform....

As far as technical information I think it’s usually people don’t want to understand, it’s not that they can’t. In my opinion you are doing a fine job creating content understandable for anyone who wants to learn. That’s really the obstacle I see most is lack of desire to open one’s mind to new or different ideas.
I would guess that’s how a lot of it works. That would just drive me nuts. But I’m used to making my own decisions and dealing personally with the consequences in my personal as well as my business life.
I appreciate the fact we can have meaningful, civil discourse even on issues we don’t agree on.
Sure, I understand. Different forms of government certainty impact my profession profoundly as well. Even from a public health standpoint. Both parties have had a hand in using my profession to ruin the health of untold millions with cheap, carbohydrate based, nutrition poor calories. Of course there is something to be said for personal responsibility for one’s diet in this case, but government influence has certainly been negative from a health perspective. A trade off for civil rest and national security, but a poorly conceived and choreographed trade off in my opinion.

All I’ve really done is try and create a nimble business model that can take advantage of changes in trade policy, environmental programs, and redesign of food quality policy if that ever happens. And if I fail to be able to adapt to severe changes to my profession by government I can walk away without feeling I need to off myself. I have created the option to be small scale self sufficient if need be, deriving fulfillment from growing my own food instead of from providing large amounts to others. In short I’m at peace with whatever direction things go because my physical needs are as secure as I can make them with redundancy and without dependence on government. But more importantly, I’m at peace because I know happiness and fulfillment are not predicated on wealth, possessions, or even fully met physical needs. I came from poverty and I have no fear of returning there.
Absolutely it’s the Christian thing to do. We are in full agreement there. “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required...”
I’m pretty careful about use of products intended for animals. With a wide range of animal species I even have to be careful with inter species use of drugs. There is one cattle antibiotic I won’t have on the place because accidental injection (which eventually happens to some extent) is usually fatal to humans. Topically applied ivermectin products we use are mostly isopropyl alcohol by volume so I’m not drinking that. LOL.
    I hear you.
Of course it’s anecdotal evidence, but the ones I’ve met are far from racist. Some have first hand experience with being the victims of racial violence (that’s why they are here instead of home) and still don’t seem to harbor racist sentiments. I was actually quite surprised as that isn’t the narrative. But the narrative about racism here is quite flawed as well. :)

@CenterField, forgot to address the physician advice.

Yes I’m at risk for skin cancer. I’m a ginger so burn easily which makes it worse. I am careful, utilizing clothing and hats that minimize exposure as well as some sunscreen as well. I’m also very careful about photo toxicity as well. In fact I won’t take a pain reliever in the summer for a rare headache or sprain for that very reason.

I’ve been toying with the idea of contacting an acquaintance that is into tailoring care to the individual by doing a lot of lab work and using diet etc. to address problems or avoid problems.

So how does the script ivermectin work? I go to a GP and say I want to be prepared with a prophylactic dose and he/she prescribes it? Or do I feign headlice or Elephantiasis (not sure how to pull that off)?

Of course what ever D Trump was given worked...

I mean because he never had Covid 19. This is all ruse so he can say Covid 19 isn't a big deal and people who die from it are losers.

Yes, sure, in your place I'd go to a GP and say you want to have the prophylactic dose at home in case you get a bad exposure or the treatment dose for the mild phase of the MATH+ protocol if you do test positive. You can say, taking it sooner rather than later is what works, you're in a farm, presumably relatively far from care (and we know how even getting an appointment is difficult these days) so you'd like to have the medication at home just in case. You can print a copy of the MATH+ protocol and two or three studies on ivermectin and take them to the GP. If he/she is a reasonable person, he/she will write you a script. I could have written a script for my wife and she could have written one for me, but the Medical Board frowns upon prescribing for one's family (we probably would be able to get away with it because they usually only check when it's a controlled substance, but still, sometimes they catch people for stuff like antibiotics too, haha, depending on whether or not they WANT to catch the person; it's an Al Capone thing... but my relationship with the Board is excellent given that I do ad hoc consulting for them and they love me... but anyway I didn't want to risk it). So what we did is, we did go to our PCPs with exactly the above information and rationale, and we got our scripts.

I think even he wouldn't go that far. He did appear sick in various occasions during the acute phase, and remember, many other people in the White House got infected at the same time. Yes, the virus was circulating there and got Trump. This strategy you are guessing at, seems like it would backfire, because polls show that voters soured on him with this demonstration that unlike what he's been saying, Covid-19 is not going away.

I agree I suppose, but mostly because he's too stupid to think it up himeslf, like the Russia collusion. That pretty much fell into his lap but Tweedle Don Jr. and Tweedle Eric couldn't get it right... Or they did and only buried the evidence 3/4 of the way like lazy cats in the litter box.
