President Donald Trump said Friday that he “would love to speak” to special counsel Robert Mueller, potentially even if his lawyers advised him against it.

Pressed about the possibility while addressing reporters outside the White House, Trump said, “I would love to speak. I would love to. Nobody wants to speak more than me. In fact, against my lawyers, because most lawyers they never speak on anything. I would love to speak.”

But the president cautioned that he would not opt to sit down with Mueller’s team of federal prosecutors if he felt he would be treated fairly.

"If I thought it was fair, I would override my lawyers,” the president said.

    .....................................................................................................................
That explains the purpose of Rudy's media events pretending that the WH has the right to make demands on what questions are asked and how long the questioning lasts. When Mueller refuses, as he should, Drumpf will claim he isn't being "treated fairly" as a specious justification for refusing to testify.

But he'd run unarmed into an active shooter situation in a school.

That would be less dangerous than facing Mueller's entrapment scheme.

Trump should avoid any interview by Mueller at all costs.

Let the witch hunter find his own evidence, if his case is relying on Trump to say something stupid in an on the record interview it means he has no case at all.

And if he had a case he wouldn't be wasting time trying to get Trump face to face.

Mueller could present his questions in writing and trump could give written replies

But queries such as “what were you thinking bla boa bla” or “what did you feel about x,y,z” are a waste of trumps time

Its time for the old swamp rat to **** or get off the pot

To people looking at all the things going on here, the "Pretense" is that there is a justifiable investigation in the first place. From the fact the dossier was a Clinton/production forward, we have a huge fabrication of suspicions- but not crimes.

The purpose of investigation begins with a crime- not with a person you want to make a suspect. Evidence that a crime has been committed.
The crime here is the abuse of power by people in politics and the justice system in what strongly appears to be an effort to overthrow an elected president by propaganda and fabrication. While evidence of a conspiracy is hard to nail down, events point back to causes consistently and as they build up, they support greater and greater confidence in conclusions. Consistent aggressive attacks on Trump based on the weakest of evidence, in the face of repeated declines to investigate wrongdoing by Clinton when there is strong evidence simply can't be brushed aside. That is intentional, it is criminal and prosecutable. It is absolutely clear that this is happening. This is the real pretense- pretending that what is real didn't happen, and what didn't happen is real; a con-job on the people. It's a despicable act fitting to a third-world country, not a free nation

NO HONORABLE PERSON OF GOOD CHARACTER SEES THIS AS LEGITIMATE.

Trump meet willingly with Mueller's team? Not a chance, if his lawyers are any good at all. I'm betting Flood has told the buffoon it's a 'no', period. If Trump met with Mueller's team, we'd have one of the very dumbest and most untruthful presidents in history being interviewed by an exceptionally smart team of lawyers. Flood would be quite busy and Uncle Rudy wouldn't be anywhere near the meeting. This interview likely won't happen, Trump is just too stupid and undisciplined for this kind of sit down.....I think they'd rather try and fight off a subpoena......

testify about what? There is no evidence of a crime for which he could testify about.

You are assuming Trump is smart enough to listen to his lawyers. Appointing Rudy would indicate a rather glaring degree of stupidity on Trump's part.

It's only dangerous if Trump lies.

Can he sit through an interview without lying?

    No?

    Oh...

I would file a motion to have the investigation come to an end. There is no crime at what it was started and it's easy to see even with Liberals, that it's nothing but a witch hunt to get Trump to lie about anything. It's like trying to convict a man of murder when there is no murder.

I find it amazing that a person you call "the dumbest president in history" beat the Clinton cartel and the DNC at their own game with 1/3 the money, 1/3 the staff... an absolutely unprecedented feat; he just flat outsmarted them and all the media with strategy- they didn't know what as happening until it was too late. And he continues to accomplish unprecedented things, like the first meaningful chance of ending the 68 year old Korean war.

If that represents dumb- what kind of label do you apply to all the losers he's put in the shade? Super morons?
That doesn't make yourself or any of those you think are smart, but can't do a damn thing right look very smart, does it?

According to one senior federal judge Mueller and Co conduct a witch hunt, lie, exceed authority, usurp and abuse unfettered power, walk over corpses to achieve their political goals...
According to another federal judge Mueller withholds exculpatory evidence and lies to the people he is after.

Come again, why would a sane person testify to the inquisition?

The actual quote was "one of the dumbest and most untruthful presidents in history". And Trump had help winning the election - Russian interference on his behalf, a weak and far to numerous set of Republican opponents, a weakfish, much maligned and somewhat flawed opponent, convenient help from the FBI Director and so on. His margin of victory was razor thin and he received almost 3 million fewer votes than his opponent. Suppose on the same day in October when Comey writes a letter to the House stating the FBI has re-opened the investigation into Ms. Clinton he also announces - "by the way, 4 months ago the FBI has launched an investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with the Russian government in order to win the 2016 election". I would have liked to see the results after that bombshell.....LOL

Trump is cagey and has tremendous street smarts and certainly is great at branding and self promotion. Most of us don't fall for his sleazebag con artist routine. And he is exceedingly dumb because he is in the process of forever degrading and humiliating one of the greatest offices on earth - that of POTUS. As for "truthfulness", Trump being a pathological liar is no secret.....

Written questions from mueller of a specific nature could be answered in writing by trump if they are approporate questions

But that is as far as trump should go in cooperating with this witchhunt
