wow talking about putting all men in a pod and telling us that we are greedier then women? you havent met my ex wife, man she can spend and spend to you into:wall: bankruptcy as she did in my marriage twice.:( so shes doing this also because she feels safer their wont be less competition for her position, since a large percentage of women are less likely to seek power verses men.

When feminists and liberals don't mind blatant gender discrimination.

So giving a group that constitutes 50% of the population 50% of Cabinet posts is 'blatant discrimination'? What a strange world some people live in.

Looking forward to some spectacularly ill informed comments from people who can barely find Ethiopia on a map.

    Of course it's not discrimination.

I mean awarding someone a job based on their genitalia is the perfect metric for job performance.

Men have been getting jobs 'based on their genitalia' for millenia. Still do. Plenty of mediocre men have risen well above their level of competency because they had the right genitalia. The funny thing is that they call it 'meritocracy' when their genitals get them disproportionate representation and call it 'discrimination' when they don't get disproportionate representation.

Now, do you have an informed comment to make on Ethiopian politics, or are you just doing some right wing virtue signalling on an issue you have no understanding of? (rhetorical question. We both know the answer)

    Sure they have.

No, nothing more to add. Clearly this will resolve all of the unfairness in Ethiopia and SJW's will have another win.

I mean we got the white farmers out of Zimbabwe and fixed that social injustice. Problems solved in Zimbabwe.

We got the evil white people out of South Africa and solved that social injustice. Problems solved in SA.

I can't wait to see Ethiopia blossom under this decision so the world will be fair and just, and all will have equal amounts of milk in their little cups.

As I suspected, you don't know the first thing about Abiy or Ethiopia. You don't have a clue who he is or what he has achieved. You just saw a headline that he appointed 50% women to his cabinet & got all triggered.

A useful reminder that you don't consider total ignorance of an issue a barrier to passing judgement on it.

The only thing it triggered was my laughter reflex.

You can prevaricate all you'd like, but if someone is giving someone a job BECAUSE they're a woman, then they're as bad as the people they're complaining about.

As I said, I'm sure this won't backfire in any way, and just like in all other areas of social justice, parity will be achieved and the universe will hum in attunement.

Suspecting there might actually be something to learn here, I went ahead and looked at the article for giggles.

As I suspected, here's the first couple sentences:

Explaining his decision in a speech to Parliament, Mr Abiy said women were "less corrupt than men" and would help restore peace and stability.

I have to thank you for encouraging me to read more, it was better than I'd hoped.

    Now, now.

Everyone knows women and men are equal.

It's just that women are better.

Gee, you read a whole article. I suppose I should be happy. That would be a first for you.

Of course, the fact that you made several comments on the issue without even bothering to read a single article on the topic comes as no surprise. Why waste time reading when you can just repeat the same old prejudices again & again.

Do you get paid by the ignorant post, or do you actually gain some pleasure from showing people how little you know? A sane person would be ashamed.

I notice you don't mention that he cut the size of the cabinet by almost a third - surely that makes him some sort of 'small government' conservative? I certainly does according to your 'make sweeping judgements based on a single data point' approach.

As for the qualifications of the women in the new cabinet, several were already ministers, four have PhDs and most have extensive experience of government & politics at local, national or even UN level. They are all there on ability. If only you could say the same about the people chosen by your President.

No but I love when the left gets caught in their own SJW nonsense and doubles down on it.

He picked women because they have vaginas and because "they're less corrupt".

The only difference between SJW's and the KKK is they dislike different groups of people.

Please continue to justify the sexist and racist behaviors your support though.

Oh look, the tactic that is the refuge of the incompetent.

Maybe you should go work on not being so corrupt so you can get a cabinet post some day.
