Fair enough, as long as you (not you specifically but you Englishmen) never complain of Italian diving again.

Oh, I see. Getting your excuses in early.
So when Imobile does his dying swan act you can equate it to Sterling getting tripped in the box.

I don't equate it to Sterling getting tripped in the box, because he did not. I equate it to Sterling diving in the box. Watch the images again. No contact. The only contact was when he was already in the middle of his dive, and the contact wasn't even to his legs.

His back leg was taken out then he was tripped by the second defender. No attempt to play the ball. Clear foul.

Couldn't find an Immobile gif so I've had to substitute one but you get the meaning...

Like I said, you lost all right to complain of Immobile (and it's interesting that you had to show a video clip of some other player, not Italian).
And the one big difference in fanbase is that we Italians mocked Immobile non-stop for what he did with memes and all, and even here I called it disgraceful, while you English found excuses for Sterling.

And then, ah, the hypocrisy... the double-standard...

Crying with joy but it will be about 9.30pm Greenwich Mean Time.
    The only time that counts.

There is always very little talk about the goalies. They are the most important person, actually. Any serious mistake has the most serious consequences, a goal. Most of the time they have to clean up the mess the defense leaves them.
    Martinez is impressive
That Spanish goalie looked rather insecure, many times, running around, good on the line, reflex, but other wise, not up to snuff.
The Italian, very impressive, the Dollar........... what so ever.
    Sommer, outstanding.
Since I have been a GK, I love to watch a outstanding GK, more than the other guys.

Saint Donnarumma, our goalie. Excellent. Outstanding. One of the reasons why it's so hard to score on us.

Don't forget Colchester and St Albans plus an ambushed legion massacred on the road.
Boudicca is the greatest destroyer of Romans Britain has ever seen.
Up until Sunday evening that is....

Colombia captured the Copa America bronze medal, beating Peru 3-2 in the 3rd place game. I had it in the background and didn't pay much attention. Looked at a couple of the goals, they were beautiful. Must have been a good game.

Off topic: I was about to get excited for the Gold Cup, but I've just learned that most "Europeans" in our team will not be there; they are back with their European clubs. So, no Pulisic, no McKennie, no Reyna... our 3 best players are out... and no Tyler Adams or Sergino Dest either. Yunus Musah? Brendan Aaronson? John Brooks? Nope. We're featuring a team B, not the one that beat Mexico in the recent Nations League final. Of the 23-player roster, the only 4 players that are returning for the Gold Cup and were part of that triumph are Reggie Cannon, Kellyn Acosta, Jackson Yueill and Sebastian Lletget. Still, it will be fun to get a glimpse of what young players like Daryl Dike, Matthew Hoppe and Sam Vines are made of. Also, Ginaluca Busio and Donovan Pines. Regardless, realizing that our best players are off the roster is certainly disappointing and I won't be paying the same attention to this tournament as I otherwise would if we had all the stars.

Seems like for the WC Qualifiers the team will be complete, so there's that to look forward to. Apparently the rationale is to not only spare them from missing their warm-ups for their clubs, but also to save them for the WC Qualifiers which are hugely more important than the Gold Cup (especially now that there is no more Confederations Cup so winning the Gold Cup is just for bragging rights), so I guess it makes sense.

The Mexicans are bringing their top talent so they are the overwhelming favorites to win the Gold Cup.
