Yup. Lurking under all of this, is just how much of our communication is stored, in case they want to search it with a FISA warrant.

A FISA warrant allows them to search ALL their stored information, and not just from the date of the warrant forward, they are allowed to search all of it from the first record onward.

Then the 2-hop rule - or even the 3 hops that Obama authorized by Executive Order, and then claimed his administration refrained from after the explosive Snowden revelations, but, the way they lied about everything else, is their claim of "self-restraint" believeable?

Hop 1 - Similarly, they can search ALL the electronic communication of everyone you have EVER communicated with.

Hop 2 - Similarly they can search ALL of the electronic communication of everyone THEY have ever communicated with.

One FISA warrant can throw a blanket over many thousands of people, and most people subjected to a FISA warrant are never informed of that, even if criminally charged. We only found out about the horrid misuse of this authority by the Corrupt Obama/Biden Administration because Trump won the election, rather than Hillary.

The FISA Court that is supposed to "protect us" from illegal spying? They routinely rubber-stamp whatever the FBI and DOJ put before them.
    That's a 99.9% approval rate.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opini...rveil-carter-page-should-scare-all-ncna852131

It gets worse. We are about to all discover, as a nation, that horrid misuse of this authority by an Adminisration carries little in the way of criminal sanction, unless you are caught submitting an out and out forgery like Clinesmith.

And guess who is ready to re-fire up the Spy State?

They bankrupted him, forced him to consume all his assets, sell his home and then threatened felony charges against his son. These corrupt bastards could force, even you, to plead guilty to whatever charge they demanded you plead guilty to.

So, while I think the surveillance was legit overall, the NR does pose a lot of questions I'd actually like the answers too. As much as it pains me to say.

Though, part of me wonders if this kinda stuff is less because of Trump and more that their overzealousness WRT Trump exposed behaviors that have been occuring for a lot longer then Trump or even Obama was in office.

FISA courts always had a rep for rubber stamping with bad info

They have a searchable record of ALL of our communications, during the Corrupt Obama/Biden Administration that greatly misused this vast power against political opponents, our fellow Americans, and folks they wanted to drive from office, this was revealed to the American People during the explosive Snowden revelations.

In alliance with the Fake News Media, they hushed that up, by claiming a process, FISA, that jealously safeguarded us from illegal spying by a Corrupt Administration, but, now we find out that 99.9% of the FISA warrants are approved by the FISA Court, as they essentially rubber stamp whatever the Corrupt Administration puts before them. Just yesterday, a top FBI attorney, a Corrupt Obama/Biden Administration holdover, agreed to plead guilty to forging an email and adding to these submissions, in order to obtain authorization to illegally spy on the Trump Administration.

And why did he commit this felony? He did not agree with the choice of the US Electorate and he wanted to help drive our duly elected US President from offic

It wasn't. They knew, before the first warrant, that Carter Page was a trusted asset of both the FBI and CIA who provided them information on Russian Intelligence. After concealing that, they presented to the Court, Carter Page's contacts with Russian Intelligence as VERIFIED probable cause that he was a clandestine agent working FOR Russia, in a criminal conspiracy with the Trump campaign, when they had no such evidence. In fact, they had exculpatory evidence that they concealed from the Court. After repeatedly hearing from Carter Page that he was a CIA asset, one of the guys that was signing off on these warrants demanded written evidence, from the CIA, that he was NOT an asset as he claimed. That's when one of the top FBI lawyers forged an exculpatory email by adding the negative NOT as in "not a source" when he was a trusted source.

Carter Page has been telling the truth about all of this, the entire time.

The only "evidence" they ever had was the Russian Bar Room 3rd and 4th hand gossip purchased by Corrupt Hillary and the DNC, which wasn't VERIFIED at all, in fact, they deliberately concealed from the Court that it was 3rd and 4th hand garbage, and that it was purchased by Corrupt Hillary and the DNC. The FISA court's review was so cursory, that they didn't seem to pick up that Steele was NOT the source, rather it was 3rd and 4th hand, and anonymous, so of course not VERIFIED, and the FBI/DOJ lied about Steele' integrity, claiming that he was an essential proven trustworthy source in a previous case, when he was no such thing, in fact the FBI had fired him for lying to them!

There is a reason the Corrupt FBI/DOJ told all these lies and concealed all this information from the Court. Had they properly revealed all this information, even the FISA court, which appears to do a Stevie Wonder imitation as they "examine" these warrants, would have NEVER authorized an Administration to spy on a rival campaign if the complete and total truth had been submitted to them.

Keep in mind these are exparte proceedings, where the person who for who the warrant is being sought has no knowledge and no legal representation to secure their rights against unlawful intrusion, in such secret proceedings, the Prosecutions duty to FULLY and COMPLETELY disclose ALL exculpatory information and the flaws in their case is at it's maximum, as well it should be.

    Continued, next post.

Let's review how we got here. First, all this intelligence is being amassed on Americans, and was largely without our knowledge. We now know, because during the Corrupt Obama/Biden Administration, Edward Snowden blew the whistle and ran for his life. The Intelligence Community, led largely by James Crapper, first lied to Congress and the American People, and then when Snowden released incontrovertable proof, they reversed, and admitted the data collection, but then pointed to this "pristine FISA" system that "safeguards our civil liberties" from illegal government spying.

Well, that's all now shot to crap. We now have the equivalent of finding out our "virgin" was moonlighting as a hooker.

And Kamala is a ruthless crook. She may be the most corrupt prosecutor to ever "serve" the State of California. Wait until you learn more about that! She would take this corruption and render it child's play by comparison.
I get that. I LIKED believing that the FBI was above reproach. I admired who Comey pretended to be, I wanted the illusion to be true, but this is no time for us to be naive. The truth has to be faced and faced with unflinching resolve. I desperately wanted to believe that Edward Snowden was a traitor. And all this pains no one as much as Andrew McCarthy who has been reporting on this, he views the FBI and the SDNY, where he served when he headed the prosecution of the Blind Sheik and 11 others in his conspiracy that pulled off the first World Trade Center Bombing, getting life sentences on all of them as his SDNY and his FBI. This is painful, but, watchfulness is price of Liberty. We need to jealously safeguard our Freedom against encroachment, that is the torch that we carry and pass to those that come after us.
I'm not sure what you mean by WRT.
I wonder the same. For example, was there illegal spying being conducted in the Bush Administration? I have a lot of trouble believing that this was a light switch that was suddenly switched on. I find it more believable that senior leaders cut a corner, their underlings saw that, and cut some more. As leadership turned over, their underlings saw them cutting even more corners, and they in turn cut some more, and suddenly we are all seeing that what started as little corner cutting is now full fledged endemic rot and corruption. And that's why those in top leadership must be of the highest moral character, those that look up to them are watching and emulating them.
    Yes. Continued next post.

I fear that they are so complacent. First, they have zero means of independently verifying any of this. If they are diligent and careful, at best they will uncover overly careful wording, and ask for clarification, or, find inconsistencies. I believe it was Comey who testified that these applications can be a foot and half thick, and it would be interesting to see the time stamps from submission to approval, I fear we would find that with the elapsed time between the two, that its clear they are doing nothing but maybe skimming through this.

John Roberts selects these judges, and presumably exercises some supervision over them, but, I'm not hearing anything indicating that any of them are being held to account.

We're also likely to find that nearly all of this abuse and illegal spying carries ZERO criminal liability, only administrative penalties, like termination or suspension. Oh, we'll get grand and glorious speechifying by an "outraged" Lindsey Graham, but Congress wrote these statutes, and we are supposed to accept that near complete lack of criminal sanction for misuse was an "oversight"?

Meanwhile, are you hearing anything about a major overhaul to increase accountability from either the GOP or the Democrats? Bernie Sanders saying anything? I hear nothing. I have the sense they are all hunkered down, planning to stay low until our attention is diverted, and continue on with the current system. Trump, being on the receiving end of all this is probably pretty sensitized to it's abuse, but, he's gone either this Jan or the 4th after, and this abuse system remains in place for the next Administration crank back up and take to the next level.

I don't think we should stand for that.

It would be negligent to not if see if the campaign was in contact with the foreign power who was helping them. Especially with all the sketchy Russia connections of folks like page and Manafort.
