One to one f22 have more chance because of the long range of detection. The only chance for a su35 is to fly at a very low altitude. For the success of the Su 35 it is necessary to come to distance for 30 kilometers to f22. But in a real battle, all this will happen with the support of radars on ships, air defense systems and aircraft for long-range radar detection. Their powerful radars see f22 and f35 at great distances. Russian engineers say that there is no sense in sacrificing maneuverability for the sake of low visibility. Because when a plane flies, it heats the air and the turbulent streams emit electromagnetic waves. Now the radars see these effects but can not guide the missile due to the low accuracy of the coordinates. But this problem will be solved after some time. Then the missiles will be able to hit any object that moves in the atmosphere. As for invisibility for radars, Russian engineers are betting on the formation of a plasma cloud around a moving object. This will completely hide an object.

Good chance IR or heat can be used at short distances, when you know exactly where and when to look. No way are you going to pick an F22 out of the the vast sky with no warning as to where and when to expect it.

Powerful radars already see f22 at great distances. They scan the sky in all directions. F22 is well suited to bomb unarmed people. USA always does that.

The problems with the F35 are just too numerous. It has been described as a lemon by many different experts and many countries that were in line to buy them have stepped out of the line. Canada for example is going with the Super Hornet instead. Australia also had some very negative comments.

Wait, Russia has jets? I thought all their aircraft had propellers, like their main bomber does.

The program wasn't cancelled. We decided it didn't take very many Raptors to fulfill that role. If you can take on F-15s 10 to 1, and the F-15 has never lost a dog fight, it doesn't take very many Raptors to achieve your goals.

This is the main Russian long-range bomber. It was adopted for service 35 years ago.

Yeah, it looks 35 years old, at least. I'm pretty sure that would get picked up on radar about a thousand miles away. Useless.

What are you on about? Why would I be angry at some poor bastard from a backward country like yours? I feel sorry for you, if anything. I wish you could live in paradise with us over here.

I have two friends in the airforce that say it is a great plane now that it is done.

It is designed to be a great fighter, but not the best, a great bomber, but not the best a great .... you get it. The obviously massive problem with this has been the cost, then because of the cost it has been put under a microscope while in the Alpha and Beta phases.

Most of the kinks have been worked out from what I have seen, this seems to be an issue with AZ, not the fighter.

Even still, with modern day missile technology getting that first shot off really is a big deal. It is why the Russians have put stealth into the front but not that aft sections of the plane. The F-35 will be a fascinating experiment to watch as it performs its life span. If we went to war with Russia we would start producing Raptors again so that main point is pretty moot.

That estimate might be high. Just kidding. No, I sort of like the Russian people generally. But your government is a global menace that has created a **** hole for you to live in. I think General Patton was right in 1942.

That is your response to a completely valid statement that is meant to show the F 35 would not be a mass produced "air superiority fighter" in a war with a power like Russia?

I honestly don't know if it is the language barrier or you are just a very childish person.

I have plenty of Russian friends so I am assuming the ladder

Restarting the F22 line would take many months, maybe even a year. Floor space would be a serious issue.

    Not in a war setting.

The only way we would go to war with Russia is if shyte really hit the fan. If that happened you can take a look at gearing up for ww2 and how everything came out from there.

I think it would be much faster if need be

I know, I know, Obama 200 times said that the economy of russia is torn to shreds... I see that our government is acting fairly competently.

Trust me. Most of the major components of the F22, plus the tooling would take a very very long time to get back in line. That program has been mothballed for a few years now and much of the hands on experience is gone.
