Good luck trying to figure out what resignates with conservatives. They long ago walked away from their proffesed principles to stay in step with the Trump cult.

Have you tried putting honey into the drippings (about halfway through cooking) and then basting the turkey regularly?? It seals the turkey skin and crates very moist turkey meat. And browns into a lovely color. Results : picture perfect and delicious Turkey.

Great idea! I haven't tried it, but I'd bet that's successful.

I'd claim that it really isn't that hard to not overcook a turkey - especially if you don't pick a giant turkey and then stuff it so you have to cook the bird to death in order for the stuffing to be safe to eat.

Clearly, Republicans don't care WHAT the president does as long as the president is an old pastey white male Republican who's fine with white supremancy and doesn't care about whether citizens can get healthcare or food or housing.

This is an interesting phenomenon that we are seeing. How Trump got control of the minds of so many in gov't and his following. Seems fear tactics do work. Fear of being trashed on Twitter, fear of being fired on some crazy impulse. fear of the unpredictable & psychopathic nature of the man It is fascinating from a psycho social perspective. In reality, it is concerning. Whatever fissures existed before he took office have all been intensified into almost a fanatical degree.

He could care less about the people that are now having to rely on food banks. He could care less about the people who get sick and die from the pandemic. His primatry objective now it t sabotage Biden's administration..........and he will continue to do this well into Biden's term. He has convinced enough people that Biden is not legit.......did not win in a legit way.........and he will continue with this undermining anything that Biden tries to do.

    Two Democrats visit the homeless:

Oh Look! A homeless person. Let's go see if they have a shopping cart and a pop up tent. What about that one laying on the sidewalk? Oh, just step over him he looks like he's sleeping. What's that hanging out of his arm? Who knows? What about that lady begging with the two kids? Shouldn't we see if she has a place to live? What are you going to invite her to your house? No, let the churches take care of them. C'mon I got enough pictures.

One of the reasons we have bloated government is creating useless jobs for useless people.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

    — Matthew 25:24–30

    We reap what we sow.

So, you read the part of Matthew 25 about the responsibilities that you THINK others didn't carry out - since you are the judge of others, I guess.

THEN, you use that as an EXCUSE for ignoring the entire remainder of the chapter - the part about YOUR responsabilities and MY responsibilities.

You should have read the part, where Jesus explains to his followers (his FOLOWERS) that those who fail to search out those in prison, those in hospital, those in need and provide for their needs will be damned to hell.

THAT is the part about YOUR responsibilities and MY responsibilities.

There is NO way that your excuse concernig the duties of others can absolve you of these responsibilities of OURS - responsibilities so important that the rightous followers of Jesus may go to hell for their failure to carry out these responsibilities.

Shutting down is what authoritarian governments do.

The projections were 2.2 million dead. It wasnt communicated around the world nearly fast enough. Covid shouldnt decided whether or not liquor stores get to stay open or if churches close. This was a major over reach of our freedoms in the name of safety.

You mean failed government. The fools running the various governments decided to fight a crisis by creating a worse one. What else would people expect.

I totally agree with this. I think the theory is that we need to keep businesses alive so that when COVID magically disappears there will be jobs to go to.

But, that's more of the top down logic that says the rich have to be made richer as the best way to help those not rich. And, I see that as bunk. Those not rich are having serious problems buying food, getting healthcare (in a time of sickness so severe that people can hardly even get in to an emergency room - and can't pay for it if they can), getting evicted (which is placed on a PERMANENT record that follows people for the rest of their lives, leaving them shut out of housing they once had), etc.

Look what we did for Tyson and other meat processors - we killed OSHA and indemnified meat packing from all health advice on keeping workers alive and healthy. The result has been EXACTLY what was expected - whole multicity regions getting sick with this pandemic.

Anyway, the idea that we have money and change laws to ensure business owners are fine while we let the masses of working peole across our nation suffer in gigantic numbers hits me as wrong.

We're creating a massive new generation of poverty that people will NOT be able to work out of simply because businesses starting being successful again.

After the 2008 crash, manufacturing output came back to previous levels of output within a short few months. But, WORKERS in those businesses didn't come back for YEARS. Manufacturers spent their time figuring out how to have FAR fewer employees while being supported by our government.

    We're doing that again.

Our economy has not been improved by allowing COVID to go rampant.

Tyson didn't close because the government made them close. The government told them they could do WHATEVER they wanted to do with NO legal responsibility for their employees. And, they had to close.

Today many places have more sick people than can fit in the hospitals. Increasing that number is NOT going to help the economy.

And, asking medical personell to work in such conditions of high personal risk on a task that is essentially impossible because otherwise restaurants have to close is just flat out imoral.

During WWII NOBODY was allowed to turn on their lights on our coasts.

During Vietnam, we ordered tens of thousands of our kids to leave college and jobs to go shoot people and get shot in the jungles for NO clear reason.

TODAY, we have troops overseas protecting us at serious risk of life and futures.

And, when we get attaccked by COVID as massively as we have been, you think it is outrageous that it's a little harder for you to get your DRINK ON???

We're supposed to be a country that pulls together in mutual defense.

But, we've become a nation of SLACKERS so selfish and thoughtless that they won't wear a MASK!!!

This country does NOT stand for what it onece stood for. It was born and protected by serious sacrifice for the good of the nation.

We have totally lost that. I don't even know what to suggest we stand for anymore.

Today, we think freedom is free and that the best expression of patriotism is "me first and to hell with the rest".

In America, 75% of poor people have air conditioning in their cars.
It's no wonder that the huddle poor, all over the world, see America as the place to live.

In 2018, more than 14 MILLION American HOUSEHOLDS (not inividuals) were food insecure - with limited or uncertain access to enough food.

Households with children were MORE likely to be food insecure.

Now with COVID, things are far worse. And, the issues go beyond food to include healthcare (where EVERY other first world nation ensures all their citizens have healthcare), housing, clothing.

And, the reason your argument is just plain ignorant is that Ford and the rest don't care what FOOD INSECURE people want in their cars. That's not their market.

Capitalism caters to those with money. So, our hospitals, our food, our cars, our roads, our police, our military, etc., etc. are all desiged to cater to the desires of those with money.

You can't eat airconditioning - though I'll admit that many are living in barely running cars and trucks that have seen multiple owners and little maintenance.

Some of them have working radios - I guess you can brag about that, too!!

I thought you progressives liked progress? Unemployment is under 7% and it could be lower. I see signs all over for help. They may pay a little less and in many cases they pay more. I hear over and over that companies cannot find trained labor. I guess those liberal arts and political correctness degrees are not getting the job done. You college kids that are loaded with student debt still looking down on those plumbers, roofers, and welders? It's a digital age and companies have figured out to get more production with less people. If you can't find a job and your a college graduate you should sue your alma mater.

I'm gonna have to do some research and return a much more thought out reply but I do completely agree with your post. Its insane we let all corporations slide right by and shaft the people. Where as I do like the lower taxes for corporations we shouldn't be subsidizing their bad behavors.
