[The point is, when you point to my God as a "fairy tale".....well that is speculation also. To say all that exists is by chance, absent of any intelligent design is a "statement of faith". I use the term "speculation" because you seem to be offended by the word "faith". Actually I am not interested in debate on the subject. My only desire is to show we are on equal footing here. My "faith" is something that will not change. I have "seen" too much evidence through the eyes of "faith". I readily admit everything I know is through the eyes of faith. Science is of interest to me however, and it often augments my faith. I believe even Einstein saw that.

#1993 features a glaring error. While responding to the litany of errors and ignorance, I transposed two of the numbers which only BEGIN to define the space, or number of conceivable structures possible for hemoglobin. I said "574 to the 20th power."
In fact the correct number is 20 to the 574th power, which is of course inconceivably larger. It is only the beginning of the space for hemoglobin because you must also take into account chirality, bond types, and folding.

It looks like a "put up" world, to quote Richard Dawkins, because it IS a put up, or designed world. Things that require knowledge to make require someone with knowledge to make them. A recipe, whether of a cake or hemoglobin, doesn't produce that end product.
    SomeONE does.

Think about the two bolded statements. Then look up the word irony in the dictionary.

ChemEngineer has put me on his ignore list. He has done the same with many people. Perhaps he felt persecuted. More likely, since he couldn't address the questions posed to him, he decided to stick his fingers in his ears and cover his eyes.

It's called "giving up", "surrendering", "being a coward", "throwing in the towel". Since you have such great admiration for him, perhaps you can forward this to him.

BTW, I am not defeated by your faith any more than I am defeated by your silly machine gun smilies. Grow up.

I actually went to the website. It makes it very clear that ChemEngineer is a bible toten' fundamentalist. The site contains a lot of the usual fundy nonsense and outright BS. Like the following...

I am an atheist. I have never said, written or implied "Christians are anti-science and stupid."
Even fundy Christians, like ChemEngineer, are not anti-science. I'm sure ChemEngineer is fine with the science behind airplanes and cars and food production.

Where fundys reject science, and all intellectual pursuit, is when the irresistible force of science runs into their immovable rock of "The Bible says...".

His site also contains A LOT of plagiarized text with no source attribution. That's not surprising or unusual. Many fundy site authors do this to make themselves look intellectual.

Ahh, you can't support your claims so you must react with insults.

Is there something besides science that's preventing you from looking objectively at evolution?
All one can read on the pro evolution side is "maybe, might, may have, looks like". There is
nothing definitive. While it's not the purpose of science to prove anything there still must be
evidence to believe something exists. Where are the gradually tranistioning fossils of a species
becoming another species? This is a reasonable request one that should be easy to produce. There
is nothing. All of the other claims for evolution are speculation. Period.

Dear Friend, what a pleasant experience it is to ignore the comments which you feel the need to address, from people who will never begin to think about facts and ideas which you and I present. Wouldn't it be so easy for you and me and others like us to feign intellectual supremacy, and call all our opponents "stupid" and "ignorant" and "racist" and "fascist" and "greedy" and "anti-science"?

But we cannot do that because we deal in facts and reality, and while we each personally may be unimportant, the truths and common sense we espouse ARE important and we continue to express them. This the Left cannot countenance.

It's hard to countenance ignorance of science when the only reason for the ignorance is belief in the writings of people 6000 years ago.
