And why would they? Why would the family of someone, a victim of the Orange Jihadist coup, shake hands with those two.

McCarthy is the high priest of the Trump cult, shamelessly sycophantic to the failed former president and aspiring dictator, and McConnell's passive ah shucks demeanor seems incredibly cowardly.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2022/12/06/mcconnell-mccarthy-police-gold-medal-ceremony-00072546

Officers and the family of fallen officer Brian Sicknick shook hands with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer as they accepted the medals, but quickly moved past the House and Senate Republican leaders — despite McConnell outstretching his hand. All senior congressional leaders were participating in the event to honor U.S. Capitol Police officers, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police and others who responded during the riot.

“May this medal — the highest honor that Congress can bestow — serve as a token of our nation’s deepest gratitude and respect: not as full but as a token,” Pelosi said prior to awarding the medals at a ceremony that took place in the Capitol Rotunda.

Among those who walked past the congressional leaders were the family of Sicknick, a U.S. Capitol Police officer who died in the days following the attack and later lay in honor in the Capitol.

In ceremony remarks after the snub, McConnell and McCarthy both thanked the officers for their heroics during that day.

Total lack of class by Sicknick's family.

Out of curiosity, will Congress be giving medals to the border patrol people who are murdered or injured at our border? How about the cops who were murdered by blm during their riots? Heck, if Congress gave out medals to fallen officers, thanks to their soft on crime approach and hatred of cops that started with Clinton, they'd be giving out medals twice a day.

Totally. I mean, they should respect the folks that **** on the officers that day, that indulged the whining man child in the swamp palace. Right? Especially McCarthy, who only had a backbone for about an hour, then when down to Florida and beg forgiveness.

I'm surprised they didn't give McCarthy the middle finger.

Don't blame them, after they gave Trump a pass for one of the worst moments in US history.

Not one of those officers died in the line of duty. They all offed themselves. The families of the suicided officers should be asking themselves why they didn't attend to their sons, who were obviously well ****ed in the head long before the January 6 civil unrest.

McCarthy is the one, as well as McConnell, who said January 6th was just normal political discourse back in the early days of January 2021. So, it is to be expected.

You act like the left has never, ever done anything at a capital or government building. How many cops died during the summer of mostly peaceful protests and other general violence by the left?

From what I understand, Sicknick’s genetics and or lifestyle did him in. It wasn’t a fire extinguisher, flagpole or selfie stick.

I'm just left wondering why someone doing their job deserves a medal of honor. The Capitol was breached and that deserves a medal?

No, they did not all off themselves. What a shameful bit of dishonesty. Second, because they did not die does that somehow make those responsible less guilty?

Anything? Yes. Stage a violent coup to install someone as dictator? No.

Some people wouldn't know class if was right in front of them. Some people should be ashamed at what they said.....but they aren't.

The day I take lessons of class from people who voted for Biden is not any day of the week that I'm aware of.

I’m sure you’re referring to the people, some of them on this board, who call cops racists and say the only reason they become cops is to go to the academy where they learn to kill black people, right AJ? Others want to defund them. And now, just to make a political statement, the left finally found a cop they like, too bad he’s dead.

The sickening part of this is the left used this guy’s death as political propaganda. Remember how they lied and said he was murdered at the capital by being smashed with a fire extinguisher? What changed? Just when you think the left couldn’t sink any lower they take steroids and find a way to do it.

Right....the people that voted for Trump epitomize class.
BTW....you don't take lessons on class. You have it or you don't and we now know where you stand.

BS. Class is a learned behavior. If it was innate, like blinking, everyone would have it.

It is innate. You had to work hard to get where you are.

I'm pretty sure I didn't work hard to be able to blink. Another thing I have to remind myself of is: Don't take lessons of how to define words from democrats. They usually don't know what a word really means.

The question is why with Pelosi who being in charge of the Capital left their family member out to dry on the steps of the Captial totally unprepared to meet the crowds the leadership at the Capital and the City had been thoroughly advised they should be prepared with additional NG troops. That leadership not only declined but the Mayor specifically and unequivocally demand NO additional to the 300 unarmed for traffic control away from the Capital to be sent to the streets. Why didn't they ask her why her Jan 6 committee is not even addressing that, has not investigated what were those discussions in the days leading up to and then during. Where is all that testimony?

Guarantee you the people who are talking about the lack of class from this family had no problem when protesters chanted "let's go brandon" as he stepped out of a plane to visit a town in Kentucky ravaged by a tornado.

I'm not really sure why but they seem to have difficulty understanding reciprocity.

For example, Trump was absolutely evil toward the Bidens. He has spent this past two years trashing our POTUS constantly and has done no inner work to come to terms with his loss.

A couple weeks back, someone asked him about Pence running and he responded "that would be very disloyal". He is clearly not "processing" that inciting his mob with a lie and a planned assassination eclipses any loyalty that might have existed prior to January 6, 2021.

He said that he's our "Law and Order POTUS" but, to date, he has never said any of the fallen officers' names. They want to make Babbitt a martyr (and some KKK members set out to kill the officer and his family) but every single time a cop kills a POC, they say it's justified. Babbitt had some wild conspiracy theories on her social media sites but they ignore that solely because of her race and the officer's race. They don't give a damn about the law.

So, whenever they stop obsessing over a grown man's genitalia and spinning the fact Trump Organization was found guilty on all 17 counts today, this will be filed away as the most egregious act they have ever seen toward the benevolent (bastards that co-conspired to overthrow our government and sat on his fat orange dum@ss for 187 minutes refusing to lift a finger to help those Capitol officers. That's simply not defensible.

I applaud the snub and any future ones she might do. She's paid the ultimate price for that privilege.

And look who is doing the 'soft on crime' dance right now, Steve? Does attacking the bereaving family of a slain officer, who stood up to MAGA and a Treasonous Trump and his apologists in Congress feel good to you? Where's your 'class'?

Whataboutism is not an argument, you know.
