I don't know, authentication of dangerous videos is not an area I've studied extensively and hopefully never will. How does Reuters or AP do it? Testimony of several credible eyewitnesses comes to mind but I can see difficulties even there.

I've been in crowds that turned ugly and, maybe it's just me, but there is a special kind of terror that engenders even if they're not after you specifically.
