That is good to hear! Always thought there was something slightly tragic about your lack of access to proper cheese. It's probably always been there, in little European delis etc, but your Average American seems oblivious. We can probably blame supermarkets for not stocking a decent range. Amish butter would be excellent, I imagine.
they are growing in a pot or tray, you take care of them similar to a house plant, pick the leaves as needed... always fresh edit: https://howtoculinaryherbgarden.com/herb-garden-ideas/ https://www.thekitchn.com/tips-for-a-smallspace-kitchen-herb-garden-202173 https://www.fastcompany.com/3027979...tchen-inside-this-sleek-sensor-driven-cabinet
I've just 'invented' a new sandwich: thinly-sliced wholemeal bread, a hard boiled egg mashed in a bowl with mayo, introduce into the mix some chopped-up sundried tomatoes, and add salt and pepper to personal taste. Party in the mouth!
It depends on what I'm eating. If I can get good cheese from a humane dairy operation (which is hard in the US), I'll make a gourmet grilled cheese.......Gouda, brie, and cheddar, and some sliced roma tomato, and onion grilled on sourdough. Other than that I enjoy liverworst with carmelized onions on sourdough.
What is sourdough? I've seen it in my supermarket but don't know whether to try it or not; a kind of bread?
Its a bread. It's slightly sour tasting because they use a special bacteria in making it which releases lactic acid.
Tks - it's odd that anyone would like something which tastes sour, but hey-ho - takes all sorts, as they say.
Tastes great toasted with butter. My wife tells me that it is more healthy than other bread. She is a health nut.
A deli ham and swiss on Rye with mayo and spicy mustard, lettuce and red onion optional. Or, on a cold winter's day, grilled cheddar cheese with bacon, on white. Yum.
How 'bout ham, swiss, coleslaw and Russian dressing separated by 3 slices of thinly sliced rye. Known as a sloppy joe where I come from.
ATM, I'm feeling Turkey Ham Maybe Subway has one? I checked, they do, this (at the moment), I'm craving one of these.
