The champion of creating utterly pointless topics strikes again!

This topic deserves a thread of its own just because it does. I would say there is absolutely no doubt Scar's "Be prepared" takes the price for me. Original version in English. Swedish dub isn't too bad either though (all Swedish dubs are really well done);

Which is your fzvorite and in what language does it sound the best?

Well from The Lion King it's He lives in you and it can be sung in any language as long as it's with an African accent, to me it loses all authenticity if it's without the beautiful African accent

I also like Out There from The Hunchback of Notre Dame but for darker reasons.

The song is sung with deceit under the pretence of caring but with intent to control, it's quite deep

Listening to it right now........

My daughter was in a Disney movie.... entitled The Circuit... when she was 4 years old......

Michelle Trachtenberg... was the star......... Those four hours over one day at minimum wage Canadian

had an amazingly positive effect on her level of confidence .....

My daughter sings in church..... quite often really.... she is only 13......

yes.... I like this.......

The original (English) is good, but I have to say the Swedish version is awful.

(That awkward moment when someone replies to a post you made almost two years ago).

I bet I listened to this several hundred times or more, as a kid. I had the record of the soundtrack from the movie. Yes, even at the age of 4 I loved hearing a sailor sing about his women! :D

I notice a couple of things @Ritter
That the video used in my post depicting my favourite Disney Song says '(English)' but watching it, couldn't help but notice some Japanese subs that, if I put my mind to it, could probably workout what it said, but its usage, I could only assume it was used to translate a visual joke? - IDK, but I did see right away that was in Katakana.
Now I must stress, this was a coincidence - I noticed the title had its language (my language) (the language it was produced in) in brackets post posting/after the fact/post factum.

Then I notice your post, I played, never saw Mulan... Still played it.
Then I learned something.
- I learned that Disney translate the songs as well.
(Who knew)? - I didn't..

Then I noticed how Hercules had the Muses too to help with the singing and other movies with posts posted in here, didn't... IDK...

Then I noticed you call this thread pointless in its conception but had me thinking
'Why?'
'This isn't pointless - '
@ OP/ @Ritter
'Disney Songs' is a perfectly reasonable genre and if there wasn't a thread already on this particular genre; then sure, why not?' 'I'd've created one if I'd've thought of it..'

Then I saw you mentioned language, and that threw me; but that's okay because I happened to see Japanese in my '(English)' version of the song I posted.

Really the translations of Disney songs are extremely well done. I imagine, it is not that easy translating the lyrics of a song and still get all the syllables to fit the melody and at the same time conserving the message and meaning of the song. I once tried translating a Swedish song into English for a forum post and make the translation fit the melody without messing up the story line too much. I gave up after two lines and just provided a normal translation.
