So, you postulate that it was a bunch of ignorant right-wingers who authored the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution? Do you even understand what a 'militia' is? Do you understand that it is specifically authorized BY the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution?!

Lastly, do you understand the extra-added significance of the word, "SHALL" when it appears in official government documents like the Constitution, and, U. S. Law? Don't take my word for it, but please ask someone who knows a lot more about it than you evidently do....

The "Dick Act" you mention has been amended several times over the years, but its standing versus the wording of the Constitutional Second Amendment has never been conclusively tested in federal courts, to my knowledge.

For those who have no idea what the "Dick Act" of 1903 was, here's a sketch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militia_Act_of_1903

Are you going to post anything that isn't gibberish that relates to the subject?

Meh, this leader is a sanctuary citizen and immune to gun laws. We need a few million more sanctuary citizens then the feds will ignore any laws they break.

Indeed. The establishment GOP likes cheap nannies and lawn service, the DNC likes new voters.

There is no independent right to establish fake militias in the const. If you have some real source for your FAKE belief, put it the fock up. I'm not about proving negatives.

However, there are separate rights of free speech and assoc, and if a bunch of old overweight semi-employable idiots want to have some club and run around in surplus army gear carrying rifles … they can do that, so long as they don't violate laws while running around with each other.

And the second amendment does not make it unconstitutional for the state govts to consent to "well regulating" their militias in the natl guard system.

I suppose they can. My experience is more that they wear spandex and lyrca type stuff … unless they're old, and then they wear old gym gear that's seen better days. (-:

There's actually a young women at the gym I go to who runs on a treadmill wearing camo leggings. I find that fascinating. She's very fit.

Good thing the British were not aware of this technicality back in the late 1700s.

Those militias were literally regulated by colonial laws.

This is technically true. However, many were often not really well organized as any formal military organization. Individual towns were expected formed their own militia for their own defense and would be called as needed for the defense of their country. Also, every able-bodied man was considered as part of the militias, even if they did not belong to a specific town or organization. So, yes, the did exist under the authority of Colonial Laws, though that really meant little during those times.

Also, the Dick Act (Militia Act of 1903) defines the militia as 2 components.....one being the Unorganized Militia, which includes every able-bodied man between 17-45 year of age.

Oh stop with your emotional play on bigotry. It doesn't look good on you.

You want people to be able to just walk across our border and violate our laws. Shame on you. I am sure you are driven by political agenda, but dismissing that we have laws in this country and being mad that other people want to uphold them is ridiculously immature and naive. Calling them names just makes you look foolish.

Uh.. they probably are. Many communities in this country have neighborhood watches and other citizen involved policing. To flip this the other way, would you be upset that a neighborhood watch reported and stopped somebody assaulting a woman on the street?

Of course not, but you find a reason to be all up in arms that others want to uphold the laws related to the borders. Who is the real drama queen?

Whatever can you mean? Seeking asylum for useless right wing crime, drug, and terror war polices that they refuse to pay for with real times of War Tax rates, is a natural right.

Still nothing but drama queenery. Dallas County needs you more than our border needs you.

In 2 yrs, you have ONE instance. Alright then.
2018,yes? The D's had no power. All that could happen was some go along with it. I can't remember, did the R house and R Senate vote on the proposal?
And a quick search provides nothing.
So, what was the vote on that proposal?

Cooperation is a 2 way street. And the leader needs to figure out how to open that street. Part of the job.

I don't think we do offer what you suggested. But I'm willing to look at your data that shows we do.

I don't have a party. I vote either party and often times 3rd party on the prez.

Yes, they did. Currently, they are obstructing cabinet posts and getting on CNN to lie about Russian Collusion.

If they had any decency, they would be trying legislate and pass laws that would benefit Americans.

So no reason for either party to stop it then.
So, fix your party if you're concerned.

They still hold no power, just 1/3. But keep blaming them. It's the partisan way.

Doesn't matter, they can still do great damage to the country, which they are currently doing.
