When the IRS collects taxes it does so at gunpoint.

Oh really? Show me proof of this. Because when I pay my taxes there is no one pointing a gun to me.

Right, that's because you pay them. Have you tried not paying them? That's when the guns show up.

No you are served with a lawsuit and then if you fail to pay you will likely to jail time for tax evasion. Taxes are the law get over yourself.

They aren't too happy about it because it's the law. They are consequences to breaking the law. Easy to enough to understand.

That would be our founding documents. Neither the Declaration of Independence, U. S. Constitution, nor The Bill of Rights say ANYTHING about America's economic system. Capitalism has come in like a cancer, and corporation lawyers have obtained the rights of citizenship for corporations. We just want to take those rights back.

If a corporation can not operate in the best interest of taxpayers we can pull their charter and prevent them from doing business in the United States. That is a big market to lose. After all, it was Republicans with the Wall Street Bail Out, and TARP that brought socialism to America in 2008. Democrats just want to get American socialism defined and under control.

The Declaration of Independence clearly states that Americans have the "right to alter or abolish our form of government." Americans are ready to do that. Neither political party is satisfying the needs of the working class or those working in poverty while GE pays no taxes. Enough is enough.

Right, you are forced at gun point to give your money to the government or go to jail.

LOL do you think taxes should be voluntary? Oh right in your own "liberty" uptopia you pay no taxes at all and everyone is allowed to step on each other in the name of profits.

The money taxed should only be used to pay Constitutional duties. There sould be no need for excessive taxation.

It was not until this country decided to fight expensive wars and provide massive entitlements that the income tax became an issue.

SOrry but the constitution is not a static document that must be interpreted as it was 200 years ago. Times change, this is unavoidable.

Not exactly a new idea. The first taxes recorded were in Egypt in 2500-3000BC. It was not an option. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax

What it goes to show is how off-track FDR was.

:whisper: : Rights aren't legitimate if it requires the effort and resources of others.

That is truth right there. Learn it; live by it.

So says your opinion. Historians select President Franklin D. Roosevelt continually to be our greatest president.

Dear God that is alarming. That list is a total excuse for the government to totally take over the economy. Saying that Americans have the "right" to a job would disable employers from ever firing their workers. A right to housing effectively nationalizes the housing industry, right to medical care turns doctors, medical staff into slaves and would effectively nationalize the drug industry. The right to social security would have been a failure becuase government is incapable of making good on its promises to repay Americans their SS.

Above all where would we have gotten the money for it? That bill of rights is certainly new because it's based on the principles of positive, rather than negative, liberties. That is a collectivist mindset which opens the door for totalitarianism. Anybody who supports that is a WACKO

Endeavoring to explain the concept of natural rights to those who believe government issues them is as pointless as trying to teach a German Shepherd calculus.

    I wish you luck.

Like most things left wing, it's highly ideological and totally unrealistic. It's something I would expect a naive college kid to dream up but nothing a president should be entertaining.

Which is precisely why we liberals are going to shove this thing down your throat. *********s and Republicans have been pushing moronic programs to try and swing the national agenda to the right.

We are going to shove this up your ass until you start acting like adults. Understand? Your politics are a joke and embrace fascism and racism. We are done trying to reason with you.

I fully agree your lot is trying to sodomize America. You seem to recognize it too.
This is an amusing post and an amusing thread. I'm guessing you are about twenty-two or so. And you probably study political science at your local community college. Have a nice day.

Dripping irony aside, what is your plan for escape after attempting to FORCE "this thing" (FDR's 2nd bill of "rights", I'm assuming) down my throat?

Yes yes. By all means. Let the democrat party introduce this 2nd bill of rights as legislation and let's have a debate on it. I'm guessing they haven't all lost their minds, however. As Wiki notes, this notion of FDR's
was very like, in certain ways, the 1936 Soviet Constitution.

We have been trying for a long time to hold off socialists that want to totally redefine our nation.
