ALL news is designed to stoke fear in people. I stopped watching it decades ago when Susan Smith lied that a black guy carjacked her and her two kids were still in the car. Back then, I would go to church every day after work to pray for her little boys. It finally came out that she let the vehicle roll into a lake with her babies still strapped in. Last time I ever deliberately watched any news program. ETA: One second thought, I did watch the coverage of 9/11. I lost a family member that day.
That is a true statement, most news is designed to elicit fear. But remember that they always throw in a story or two about Easter Egg Hunts or other warm and fuzzy happy stories, a distinct minority. The larger point of the story is that a manager at CNN was caught surreptitiously admitting what many cynical bastards like me already knew.

Alternative media and other sources. These days, those sources and individuals that are censored by MSM. Full disclosure, I still read headlines from MSM now and again, just to find out how they want me to think. Once I find out how they want me to think, I then know that thinking in the opposite way is most likely correct.
Depending on what MSM you tune into, what they want you to think will be quite different. Obvious example is FOX compared to MSNBC. So, the question goes back to what alternative media do you put your trust in?
I read alot. I use many sources. I also have learned from my life experiences. While the internet with its strong censorship is an excellent tool for the propagandists, it is also an excellent source of information not covered by MSM.
