Probably the majority of the society was implicated in this evil to some extent or another. Your leaders don't just go about openly sacrificing hoards of human beings and ripping out their bare hearts without something being very wrong with the society. This was also religious-based, don't forget. There were probably a huge number of people who believed in what they were doing and condoned it.

It wasn't a total genocide of everyone. Mexico today is still brown. The natives contributed more to the modern-day genepool than the Spanish invaders.

 

More to the point, regardless of how I'd look, were I to answer a question that's clearly based on an intellectually and morally bankrupt premise, I'd be silly.
