What happened to Justice is blind.

14 days in a federal prison is a joke.

This is another example of the Justice System in this country.

Guidelines were zero to thirty days and frankly I'm surprised she got 14. I figured she'd get zero.

Do you have a link to the guidelines for this sentencing.

I heard talking head lawyers discussing it yesterday and saying she'd probably get zero days. Don't really want to spend time digging for it but they seemed pretty knowledgeable in the subject so take my post or leave it based on that. I agree though that it's a joke and no real punishment at all.

Joe Biden would have let her walk because she wasn't violent. To be honest, I'm surprised she got any time at all.

Hey, Bruthua, this is just yet another example of how if you're part of the Hollywood-liberal elite clique, you can do anything, break any rule, commit any crime, and not even get a robust hand-spank for it. What's that old line? "Some are more equal than others...?"

I don't know if Trump commented on this case or not. Did he?

I take it you don't like it when LW Democrat -female- Hollywood celebrities get one type of justice, and everyone else gets another? On that we can agree.

But ponder this, if her last name was Manafort, she'd have gotten a year. If her last name was Ilhan Omar, her role in the whole scandal would never have come to light, utterly suppressed by MSM and forgiving courts. If her last name was Clinton, somehow she'd end up with millions of dollars out of the deal and people who tried to blow the whistle might have even turned up suicided with two shots to the back of the head.

So who do you -really- want to blame for this miscarriage of justice?

The real joke is the justice department spent your money and mine prosecuting a minor crime with no definable victim. The US attorney should be ashamed. The whole thing should have been handled as a tort.

It would be interesting to compare her sentence to all the other NON-celebrity pigs who sucked at the trough exactly as she did.........

Actually we can't, because this is not limited to the left or right

Sorry history doesn't bare that out. Had that been Omar she would have been screwed.
Or if her last name was Trump.

The Justice System is crooked which has been proven time and time again. It comes down to race, class, etc.

Sounds like felonies to me. I don't pretend to know much about the case so I don't know if the sentence is fair or not. And she did plead guilty. 14 days will probably hurt her more than the average person.

I believe mail fraud was the federal charge and it will be interesting to see what happens to the other lady who is fighting the charges if she loses. Predictions are years in jail. Personally I'd take the guilty plea deal

No offense but you just sound whiny here. It's her first offense, she pleased guilty as charged and took a reduced sentencing deal for doing so. This isn't exactly a thug with a long criminal record.
Having said that 14 days seems kind of silly to me. Either give somebody six months or let them walk.

I recall cheating on a math test in high school. Of course none of the pious people posting here ever did anything like that.

I would take a plea deal too. But I don't know if the other defendant was offered the same deal. The other Lady seems to be acting like a spoiled brat and refuses to admit wrongdoing. At least that is my impression. Will be interesting to see what the Judge says.

She got outed for trying to get her unqualified child into a school that she otherwise had no shot at. The humiliation factor alone is punishment. She's like soccer mom gone bad. Not as bad as that lady years ago that had a cheerleader killed so her daughter would get the spot in the squad though!
