Her husband (great actor) and her have been huge Hillary supporters. She likely vote twice.

Expulsions should happen. They didn't earn their places in those schools. But, all of those schools are guilty of a far bigger and more systemic scandal in their admissions discrimination against: Asians, Whites, Local Resident Students are all discriminated against in massive amounts making this event tiny in comparison.

Where are the Leftists calling for those non-merit based admission practices to be ceased? Where is that investigation? SILENCE LEFTISTS... you have no room to get all upset here, unless you are ready to embrace a real merit based admission standard.

I don't see the big deal, they have money, they should be able to buy whatever education they want.
What good is money if you can't spend it how one wants? As long as it's legal.

People buy buildings or fund a college program, just so their kid can get into a certain school. Anyone whine about that?

They did not fund a science building

They paid a pimp to arrange fake athletic prowess of the children and to bribe university coaches who knew the creds were fake

Were any black folks bribing the colleges?
Yes, there is a money privilege. Always will be too.

    Yes, money has it's privileges.
Is this really news to anyone? Anyone at all?
What difference does it make if they just pay more for admissions or pay to have a science building funded?
Either way, their kid gets in.

Many of them would be the 1%ers. The 1%ers get to do anything with their money.
I thought the RW loved the 1%ers. They will create jobs.

    https://news.yahoo.com/heres-why-lori-loughlin-probably-193500291.html

Here’s Why Lori Loughlin Probably Won’t Go to Jail for the College Bribery Scandal

Here is where the Deep State screwed up

They could have had a FBI agent “interview” the parents informally without informing them they were under suspicion

and then if they failed to tell the truth send them to prison for 25 years or whatever the max penality is

Not sure about USC but at Berkeley is is just over 3%. Blacks make up about 12% of the population in the US so are terribly underrepresented. That is why it is very possible that less blacks may make it in because of basing admission solely on test scores, the increase of Asian population is going to far outweigh the decline of Blacks. That is why I said getting rid of AA would probably not have helped those wealthy white kids in this story.

Sure. Legacy and donations have been around forever and are definitely a separate discussion but they are legal. What is going on in this case is not legal. They are committing fraud and giving bribes. They are breaking the law.

To be fair to the Hollywood elitist, all parents I know brag about their kids regardless of how mundane you think the accomplishment is. It is almost like they are proud of their children.

    why does that matter
the most qualified should be the ones selected to get in skin color shouldn't be any factor in admissions period and its racist if it is

how many of those average everyday parents cheat and bribe so to be able to brag ?
big difference in bragging about you kids earned accomplishments and cheating and bribing to get your kid into a university and then bragging

and that was the point of my post that those Hollywood elitist cheated and bribed so to be able to brag it had nothing to do with bettering their kids lives or pride in their kids accomplishments

The ones whom they named are BIG Democrat donors. While Lori Loughlin's husband gave the majority to Democrats, he did donate to Rubio. Hypocrisy at its worst...

So they got where they are through bribes, didn't have to work hard, and are the products of lazy criminals. They can always get a government job!

    We need to keep it.

Merit is what it should be based off of, unfortunately that is still not the case.

Yeah, this isn't about race or mostly class. It's about inherent fairness. Every child deserves a fair chance and good schools. Education is not simply "for the rich." We outgrew that primitive way of thinking. Throw the kitchen sink at them, no pleas!
