Watching Emma Watson at the UN explaining that her research shows that Feminism only means that women seek equality with men in political, economic and social spheres. That has me wondering about what is most important in life and where do the (being PC here) two majority genders among the billions, means for the USA.

    At 3:45

In order of importance I’d think:

    1. Longevity:

    http://cdn.financialsamurai.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/US-life-expectancy.jpg?882e93

    Women take that one.

    2. The right to have a family with your own children but no partner. I do not have a stat but I think we can all agree, until exogenesis is a thing (currently illegal to even try past a 10 day old embryo) women have this one.

    3. Wealth:

    http://www.businessinsider.com/women-now-control-more-than-half-of-us-personal-wealth-2015-4

    Women take that one.

    4. Voting demographics:

Very hard to get a plain question answered in web searches: what % of the US electorate is male/female. But plenty of links stating women, as a voting block, are guiding US elections. Example:

    http://news.gallup.com/poll/158588/gender-gap-2012-vote-largest-gallup-history.aspx

    or

    http://www.americanthinker.com/arti...winner_of_the_2016_presidential_election.html

Spending: Who gets to do the discretionary spending?

    http://janverhoeff.com/women-make-85-purchasing-decisions/

    Women at 85%!

    5. Who does the hardest, most unpleasant work?

I’ve heard that about 95% of work place deaths are men. Warren Farrel, in the “Myth of Male Power” said women only have parity with men having lousy jobs in 1 of what he thought among the 20 worst (professional dancer: they want them anorexic and unnaturally on their toes.) This link calls it 90% male.

    http://articles.latimes.com/1995-08-04/business/fi-31566_1_workplace-deaths

There are other things that matter but this seems to me the top 5. And women have an edge or vast advantage in all of them.

Is it time that Feminism start focusing on male issues? Is it in actuality nothing but a gender supremacist movement? Are there much higher priorities impacting gender than the ones I’ve listed?

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

Those are all good points when considered in a vacuum, but the logic in bringing them together and forming an argument about them shares a flaw with feminist logic: this idea that all women can be looked upon as a block. That Women function as a unit and can be considered as being supreme or not as a whole.

In reality ever argument that relies on labeling all members that share a trait (in this case genitals) are inherently flawed. Equality can't be achieved by discussing the issue in such broad terms and using such sweeping generalizations, especially when we are then going to turn around and tie these huge home genius groups to such specific topics as work deaths.

In my opinion the one elephant on the room when it comes to gender issues is that everything is an unprovable assertion. A wide, sweeping generalization triggered by a very specific tidbit of info that, taken on its own, has no legitimate implications whatsoever.

For example, the idea that because some men rape, all men need to be taught not to rape.

Another example, since men have more workplace deaths, women are now in a position if supremacy in society.

""""". That has me wondering about what is most important in life and where do the (being PC here) two majority genders among the billions, means for the USA."""

    That sentence doesn't make sense...

...and I'll leave because this is just another thread meant for the ""Frightened Misogynists of America Club" to assemble and whine ....:)

A valid area of inquiry/discussion; true feminism seeks to lift all genders beyond paradigms of control and abuse. :)

But one important stat you left out is that the majority of domestic abuse in the United Sates is committed by women, not men. :(

It's a reference to the gender spectrum.

Please feel welcome to rejoin us in a thoughtful discussion of the impact of misandry on the lives of men if you're ever so inclined. :)

A single metric doesn't represent supremacy or its absence; can you address any of the other issues raised?

    Pay/wealth disparity for instance?

While the pay gap is real - if its causes arguable - women in the US control more absolute wealth than men.

Sounds like this may be a wise choice for all concerned, but if you can rouse your better angels to participate in a constructive way, that would be great. :)

The fact that you're framing this thoughtful discussion - barely underway - in this fashion is disappointing and unwarranted.

Back to additional areas of concern not mentioned in the OP...

While it's true that the majority of domestic abuse in the US is committed by women, the abuse of males is medically prescribed at a much earlier time.

While infant female circumcision is rarely undertaken in the West now, male circumcision is commonplace.

Is the retention of intact genitalia from infancy the ultimate badge of female privilege?

Young, single (naïve) women are the most important voting bloc of the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex. Same demographic is the most free-spending demographic for marketers. So do the math as to why feminism, a repulsive, groundless doctrine, is a thing and not decried for the cultural and social poison it is.

Feminism is all one thing, Marxist/collectivist social destabilization, has been that since its inception as a matter of fact, not opinion. It isn't "equality for women" but discriminatory advantage for the Complex's most important voting bloc. Why import so many inferior, criminal, inassimilable illiterates to the U.S.? So the endless waves of "Complex Studies" young females can be ushered into the dependency of gov-edu-social work central jobs programs as a permanent collectivist political class. "Women" aren't supreme, the Complex is, and about half the women see the feminist canard for what it is.

For the most part, a "feminist" is a young, dumb woman who hasn't had a male child yet.

    Feminism ~= "women."

I know feminists with male children, but one of feminism's many challenges is addressing the toxic presence of misandry in its ranks.

Women are the majority of the voters. So whose fault is it that no women have been elected?

How many women supported Roy Moore and trump?

So you are afraid to have a real discussion.

    Typical.

When my ex was guilty as hell, when she was lying or trying to get away with something, she would go to the bedroom and slam the door.

    Same thing.

Nope, no fear here, I have been involved in this type of "discussion" many times over the years and while it is sometimes fun to see men whine over fantasy "oppression", it does get boring and remains meaningless:)

I am trying to understand both of your positions. Do you think that there are higher priorities than the ones I've listed? Is there a culmination of lower priorities that one should take to mean that Feminism must continue to focus, in the name of gender equality, on women's issues? Do you have a number of priorities that you think more important. Is becoming a US President more important than having equality in longevity? I look forward to any response you deem appropriate.
@Nonsense: if not done this way, how would you figure out if there is equity among the genders? I do agree that men and women are not political monoliths. Where we are today includes, for instance, a lot of cross-over voting. If women vote 55% for one candidate, 45 voted for the other. That's not nothing.

I would put the abuse issue in the top 10. If there were equity in the 5 I note, the impact of domestic abuse would be lessened. For instance, if men had women's political clout, would we have a Domestic Violence Against Women Act? Or would we have equality of concern and aid for victims of such violence? I think government responsiveness on this issue would be much more even handed.

Pay disparity is in my top 50 concerns. Not very high. If men make more money (for reasons) than women, but by operation of law, government policy, court decisions and social custom, control of wealth and purchasing decisions are transferred from men who earn this money to women that did not, what does it matter? And if, by Government fiat, pay is equalized, will this result in a smaller transfer from men to women, or just women now making 99.9999% of all purchasing decisions?

Overall I suspect that the Feminist Mystique (no pun intended) will level the playing field for many women who have had it good if not better before Feminism.

The basic mantra of Feminism is that "women should be treated equal to men." The main emphasis is in job promotion and pay.

With more work and more pay comes more stress however. This leads to premature death, which is what the hubbies of the pre-feminists paid so these long lived women/widows enjoyed for longer longevity and inherited wealth. That will all eventually go away.

I know more and more men who are outliving their wives. These wives worked as well. It killed them.

    Q.E.D.

Another thing to consider is the absence of equal mandatory military service; women not being drafted while men are.

Through human history, how many hundreds of millions of men have died or been wounded in war while women were spared?

    Good one one on youtube
Why are so many ads so hateful to men? Because they're appealing to women who make the purchases. Another good one was by a mom that seconds your point. How will a woman feel about her son, for instance, being imprisoned for rape without proof when earlier, the mom had fought to make accusation = guilt.

That goes into the bad jobs and longevity issue for me. Some 95% of US military casualties, to this day, are still male. I got to see Hillary Clinton asked if women should be drafted. She said she needed input from the generals. Like that has ever been needed. ITMT: I'm sure Ruth Bader Ginsburg would want casualties to be 50-50. Do women really want that sort of thing?
