There are now more registered independents than Republicans, marking a first for the U.S.

According to data from Ballot Access News, independents make up 29.09 percent of registered voters, while Republicans make up 28.87 percent and Democrats make up 39.66 percent. The data comes from the 31 states that require registration by party.

The GOP has everything against it.

Demographics: young people vote more left-wing than the generation before them.

Education: the more educated a voter is, the more they vote left. University and college graduates vote Democratic in a combined 55%.

There is a steady decline in the number of people living in rural areas and urban dwellers are predominantly left-wing.

I am glad more people are seeing the two party system as the fraud that it is.
Vote on the issues, not because of the letter beside someones name.

I make no predictions regarding trump and elections, but I would love to hear your reasoning? Is it just blind faith?

Incumbents on BOTH sides are going to have a bad November.
The economy will be in it's third quarter of recession and the unemployment rate will probably be over 10%.

Nope. It's Joe Biden and his dementia. The exploitation of covid by democrats. The lack of response to rioting by democrats. The complete lack of any plan other that Trump hatred by the democrats. These are the things average Joe American is talking about right now. Really, it's just that Biden is a joke and no one knows who will actually be running the show. Democrats seem content to let the mob rule and acquiesce to socialism. People don't like that.

You appear to believe that the election will be a decision for Biden vs Trump for a majority of Americans instead of a decision for Trump vs anyone or anything that is legally permitted to become President.

Most are not willing to sell out their country to the radical leftist mob just because they dislike the current POTUS. Biden will be a puppet.

Most are not willing to let Trump continue to sell out their country to help himself financially and politically.

Until it doesnt on election day when all the people out there keeping their heads down and out of the fray vote for Trump. Trump turnout has been massive in the primaries. Biden's has been rather weak.

be careful, many republicans registered as Independents to rig the election, IE : vote in dem Primaries

every vote counts dems, get out and vote in November, that is how Hillary lost in 2016, no one thinking Trump could win, thus not bothering to vote

Maybe they're smart and know that the only way their vote is going to be able to make a difference is to vote in Democratic primaries, since they live in a solid Blue state and their vote is not really going to end up making a difference in the Electoral College.

Here's the latest high-profile real-world example of this:

Former GOP candidate Carly Fiorina says she'll vote for Biden

Washington (CNN)Former 2016 Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina says she'll support Joe Biden over President Donald Trump in the 2020 election, calling the presumptive Democratic standard-bearer a person of "humility" and "character."

"I've been very clear that I can't support Donald Trump. And, you know, elections are binary choices. I will say this: I think, I hope, that Biden understands that this moment in history calls for him to be a leader, not a politician," Fiorina told The Atlantic's podcast The Ticket in an interview released Thursday.

Pressed whether that meant she would vote for Biden in the general election, Fiorina replied, "Well, it's not 'til November is it? I'm not voting for Trump ... it's a binary choice. So if faced with a binary choice on a ballot, yes."

    ... https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/25/politics/carly-fiorina-joe-biden-trump/index.html

2021 is going to be a good year! Can't wait!

The Republican party is on the verge of extinction. Back in my day candidates of both party's would advance their policy solutions to the problems of the day. Republicans have given up on trying to govern. All they offer is a vague ideology and slogans like make America Great again. And their only legislative accomplishment was a slap dash piece of crap that was advanced without hearings or even time to read the thing. Governing is hard work and Republicans have shown they have not the least little bit of interest in doing any real work at all. They are impostors.

I heard someone describe their bargain with Trump as Faustian. Makes perfect sense given how it is now ending for them.

Since 2004 Republicans have dropped 3.9 points.................The Democrats have dropped that much since 2008. Where are all those independents coming from?
