Today Trump announced he is moving our embassy to Jerusalem. He is keeping an election promise. Finally a president that is a man of action and true to his word. Two or three presidents before him said they would, and that includes the useless Obama.

Aside from putting lives in the balance, who is supposed to benefit from moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? Is it simply appeasing to the Pro-Israeli and evangelical crowd. Does Trump even care about the negative reaction we may get from one of our allies, the citizens he is putting in harms to score political trophy points?

Unless you're a religious fanatic, this is a negative strike against Trump.

Actually it is simply recognizing what Israel says is their capitol.

    Define religious fanatic.

Why is it such a big issue to Americans though, that the last real three presidents have promised they would do? What difference does it make if the embassy is in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv? As long as there is a embassy in Israel, it shouldn't matter. We've already put ourselves at odds with North Korea, do we really want to do the same with Israel, alienating one of our allies? These are very important questions that need answers.

A religious fanatic is basically anyone who says their religion is superior to yours. We see this in the South, with the condemnation of gay marriage. It's waving the bible or the quran in a way as if you're superior to others.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, just like it has been for thousands of years. If homosexuals want some kind of a union, they need to come up with their own word.

After all it was God that lead the Jewish people to Israel thousands of years ago.

Ironically the only reason you disagree with the move is your fear of religious fanatics.

Nonsense. Those Presidents said that they would move it provided that our national security is not affected. Let Trump try it. He can always change his mind if the fire gets too hot, and he can always move it back. Promises are made with the obvious provision that all things are equal. I hope that he didn't make a huge error and cause a further deterioration in an already sorry situation. American lives are at stake. Let's not forget the promise that hasn't born fruit, like the great wall that Mexico is going to pay for.

Not how it works dude. Let it go.

This is the hill you want to die on? FFS let the gays alone. Stop fighting the dems on useless bullshit distraction issues, and concentrate on the economy and preventing them from adding the fix nics poison pill bill to the national reciprocity bill.
Who gives a **** if two dudes get married?

That being said: good on him for keeping his promise and not kow towing to the palestinians. probably going to hurt the peace process a bit (which had been going alright), but honestly the Israelis have been our only real ally in the mid east for so long we might as well just pick a damn winner.

You seem to think that pretense has a valid role in politics. The congress has pretty well agreed over the years that Jerusalem was the capitol and should be so accepted. Past presidents as well agreed, and promised they would- because it is not a change of reality, just a recognition of it and decision to move our embassy to the city it should have always been in. Past presidents have simply chosen to let the muslims bully them- they lacked the courage of their own convictions, so they just pretended the process was happening and not happening at the same time. That's the level of integrity our politicians have had- zero.

This really doesn't have anything to to with people outside of Israel except as one of the anti-jewish hate points for muslims. Their intent is to dictate to us, tell that we shouldn't do something even though it has nothing to do with them- because they don't like the idea. That is offensive in the first place.

Allowing it would be to allow others to intimidate you with no valid cause. Hardly something one could be proud of, but that is where our gutless politicians have chosen to be- straddle the fence, don't actually be solidly behind anything you say. No wonder our friends don't trust us and our enemies think we are cowards.

Calling a serial liar a "man of his word" . . . Twilight Zone stuff.

Reminds me the time, years ago, when Trump was caught lying about his wealth 30 or so times during a trial. He responded by saying that he was "basically a politician." Always made me chuckle when his fans said what they liked about him was that he wasn't a politician.

Next move: Our capitol to NYC. . . . Another meaningless diversion that will be lauded by logical1 as a monumental achievement.

Funny- I don't remember any discussions on doing that in New York in the past. On the other hand, our presidents and congress have agreed on and been promising to recognize Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel for about 20 years-but stalling, just giving it lip service, so nobody would be offended... because that's the kind of cowards they are.,

I was being facetious regarding the move to NYC. . . . But I find his MAGA policy of Nationalism inconsistent with his attaching ANY importance to this move.

This is obviously a publicity stunt to boost his ratings by adding to his list of "achievements".

Sure. Never mind the fact that we have been promising to do it for 20 years and nobody else has had the guts to keep their word. That would be just a publicity stunt all right.

And the upcoming deaths that result from the surge of protests will all rest on trump's head. All because he wanted to finally do something for his sheep that he had promised he would do. It took him long enough.
