Germany is following that path. She is taking an intelligent approach.
Global climate is cooling. Given that, what is the huge fear? Not from the IPCC reports.

Please, follow science and not politics.

Do you have evidence supporting the claim that the global climate is cooling? The only evidence I can find indicates the opposite.

Do you think that they are attempting to INCREASE THE GLOBAL DIMMING EFFECT..... which should cause more COOLING?

People who think humans can control the climate are delusional. We all know God controls the climate along with his archangel Ali-Mohammad bin Laden. Nevertheless I'm still investing in carbon futures.

Here is something to try out. Get a private pilot's license. By being up in the Air a lot, you can tell who tells the Truth.

Or Imagine you captain a major ship in the ocean. Look up to either fear the clouds or try to understand them.

Notice how when they want to alarm you, they ignore the clouds.

Clouds are vitally important for the heat exchanges of this planet.

Lindzen’s arguments are not anywhere near sufficient to discount man-made climate change.

Last time I noticed the earth was cooling was when I fell asleep on the front porch with no blanket. But I got over it soon enough.

We have entered a period of cooling.
The HadCRUT4 Global Temperature Dataset Now Unveils A Cooling Trend For The Last 7.5 Years
By Kenneth Richard on 19. July 2021

Since the last day of 2001 CO2 has risen from 372 to 419 ppm. However, there have been two cooling periods of 12 years (2002-2014) and 7.5 years (2014-2021), separated by a 1.5-year El Niño-induced warming event (2015-2016). Temperature changes that proceed in step- or event-like fashion do not seem to correlate well with linearly-rising CO2 concentrations.
HadCRUT4 temperature data (made available for public use by WoodForTrees.org) now presents a slight cooling trend since the first few months of 2014.

If I change the timeline to just the last 3 years, though, it shows a warming trend (spoiler tagged for the sake of spacing).

Same if I change it to the last 5 years.

    Same for 8 years.

So why should I consider the 7.5 year trend over the 3, 5, or 8 year trends? And what makes any of these shorter period "trends" reliable when compared to the last 100 years?

If anything, it looks like there was legitimately some cooling in the 70s, but then the warming resumed.

You asked, I answered. Odds are that we're in for at least a decade of cooling now, maybe more.

Linked below is a recent presentation. More broadly, solar output is relatively weak, so under the Svensmark/Shaviv hypothesis increased cosmic ray impact on the atmosphere should drive cooling.

Does a 10 or so year cooling trend mean that global warming isn't a problem, then?

It puts a dent in the "consensus" AGW hypothesis at its weakest point: climate sensitivity. And I personally think the cooling will go on quite a bit longer than ten years.

What part of the hypothesis does it put a dent in, though? My understanding is that there are certainly cooling periods that happen for a decade or longer, but that the average global temperature has been trending up for for the last 100+ years even with those cooling periods. Those cooling points seem to indicate that there are additional factors that affect our global temperature's beyond just CO2, but the temperature still ultimately climbs to above where it was before that period. Are you thinking that the existence of cooling periods completely negates the idea that CO2 has a role in the increase in global temperatures?

Climate sensitivity is the key, and the puzzle AGW theory cannot solve. CO2 is not negligible, but it is not all the answer. Result is there's no climate crisis. Explained in detail here.

I would not worry either way about climate.
Ignoring all science and all politics, let me say this.
Climate is called climate for 30 year periods.
Gore tried to scare the world some 20 some odd years ago.
I never hear of a single country that says they have a dangerous climate now but not 30 years ago.
