The white guys had no reported incidents when they ran over the power cable, while this guy had multiple write-ups before the final infraction. The claim that there was a noose or a "whites only" break room is fodder and cant be proven. The black supervisor telling him the break room was "whites only" sounds like a local leadership issue if actually true. Probably a prank since maintenance people are known for this type of banter towards peers. Probably had zero credibility and this guy was too gullible and spineless to test it out.
Or make one a supervisor. Quota? Amazing that in 4 years, he never once thought any of the perceived racism was ever reported. Just grasping at straws.
There's no mention of the races of the people in management who fired him. Supervisors typically can't fire people, they need the support and approval of HR and management a little higher up the ladder.

Mostly, but not completely. And who knows if that was the time of day where everyone was on break? A pic doesn't say much when you don't have context.
Accusations of racism made by non-whites are much like accusations of rape made by women. We MUST have a break neck reaction and assume the accusations are true. Another similarity is that often times, oddly enough, a large enough sum of money makes the problem (real or not) disapear.
The problem with that is people assume guilt, even when not found. Many settlements are basis for when people justify their claims of "gender pay gap".
Was this guy in a union? There's a good chance he was and no union would ever let a guy get fired over something other employees were previously just disciplined for. Maybe this guy was already on a final written warning and this was the last straw.
That's my guess. And I don't know if SW is unionized or not. They have decent fares so I would guess no.
This happens all the time. A friend of mine works for a place that fired a black girl for not doing a good job, she sued the company claiming racism, and they ended up paying her 40 grand to drop her lawsuit to avoid the negative publicity. Gee, I wonder who gave blacks that idea?
She only went on race and not sexist too? Could have doubled the pay out. My wife just got laid off from an all black photo studio, she was the only white/native American working there. Maybe she should sue?
