well, nothing so deep and meaningful...make of this what you will....I remember saving up my pocket money and going to the shop with my Mum.... ...still got it!!
I remember now. Trisha Toyota joined the team at KNBC. She was attractive and Snyder kept asking the audience, "Wouldn't you rather drive a Toyota?" LOL!
I'm not from a generation who purchased a lot of recorded songs. I can't really say, I don't remember if it's a green day or a moondog one.
The set of Guns N' Roses cassettes I requested for my 8th. Appetite for Destruction Use Your Illusion I GN'R Lies
I think my first album was When I listen to that song now, guess who comes to mind. Number One [my first sugar baby], of course. I'll never get over her or my romantic feelings for her. "All the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true" That about sums it up.
First purchased single - Gary Glitter "I Love You Love Me Love" First purchased album - BBC Death and Horror Sound Effects Volume 9
I bought the Beatles' "red" album (The Beatles 1962-1966) when I was 12 in 1974. A few days later, I bought the "blue" album (The Beatles 1967-1970). That's still the best music I own.
"Superstar" is a great song. They defined popular music in the early 1970's. They were originally from Connecticut.
The eponymous Doors album on CD was my first album purchase. Pretty much have stuck to buying CDs, given that they're legal and a great archival format that I can "rip" to any format I want or need for playing, and can easily stick them into a player if desired, and they won't wear out or get damaged very easily if kept in their cases.
Haha, I had to go back and listen to that song. As soon as it started I remembered every word but it's been so long I couldn't remember it at first. I still like their music. Did you know that Karen actually joined Richard's band as a drummer? Then she tried singing one day and the rest is history.
Yes, she as a good drummer. In my opinion, she had a top 4 female voice in the history of recorded music with Aretha, Barbra Streisand, and Dusty Springfield.
My favorite band. I lived on Miller Lite beer and the Doors while in college, 1980-84. Listened to "The End" and "When the Music's Over" like a religious zealot.
I used to listen to it on my Performa while playing Doom and other games. I remember at least once listening to The End in the dark and that being quite an experience.
Haha, I had to look up Dusty Springfield. I never knew her by name. You know who really surprised me was Lady Gaga. I never appreciated her until she started doing duets with Tony Bennett. She has a fantastic voice. Tony Bennett is ahead of my time but when I saw that they were going duets I had to see whats up. Wow! I had a newfound appreciation for Lady Gaga. I have a particular preference for songs [or in this case a performance] relating older men to younger women. And I love songs about hopeless love. I can really relate to that!!!
