I read a near death experience account in December of 2012 that has the potential to shift the whole world in the direction of genuine peace.

    A Brief Auto-biography of
    Bruce F. MacDonald, PhD

    http://www.thomastwin.com/3 A Autobio.html

    ....

Over the next couple of decades Dr. MacDonald learned to replicate the NDE state of mind through meditation. In a number of his more profound experiences he was shown some of the teachings of Rabbi Jesus/Yeshua that were not recorded for us in the Christian Bible but are certainly hinted at in a number of Apocryphal writings and the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Here are the five paragraphs that I would encourage you to research to see if Rabbi Jesus/Yeshua really probably taught this to his disciples?

In the course of your studies you might want to read about the work of Dr. Ian Stevenson and Helen Wambach Ph. D.

There are plenty of beliefs out there that would be peaceful if everyone agreed with them. Obviously, the big problem with these are that they are not persuasive. Having read these ones, they don't seem very persuasive either. Why would this lead to any saving of a worId?

True.... so far the vast majority of people are uncomfortable with the
extremely humbling implications of this material.

One possible method for a new and improved NSA - CIA to fight terrorism is to take
a number of the most notorious terrorists, hypnotize them, regress them to past lives as women,
film them recounting what it is like to give birth to a baby......... plaster the footage all over
the internet.............. and terrorists will begin to fear the new improved USA Secret Service of
    the Trump era?!

Nine people out of ten can be hypnotized and get impressions of what they sure think are
    past lives.

The fact that these past lives viewed are of both men and women...... as well as all over the racial and
ethnic spectrum.... has a lot of potential in an era where political correctness is
significantly decreased in control over our culture.

What is that white guy doin in my head? (Past life regression under hypnosis).

I don't see how any of that would help. Why on earth would anyone believe any of this just because of the uninterpretable screams of a prisoner of war? Terrorists already fear the west to the extent they will. Most of the attacks have been attempts at telling the west to back off. Extra fear isn't going change that (at least not in a good direction).

When you say "they sure think", what's the best justification for believing in any of this?

It's a beautiful lullaby, very supportive for those who would deserve hell when they die.
I have another beautiful story : we have one life to get it or we go to hell. It's call the Bible.

The identity of the Being of Light of NDE fame is
troubling a significant percentage of Christians, Jews,
Muslims and deeply religious people from all faiths.

Christianity has already been transformed by these accounts as
Dr. Raymond Moody, Oprah Winfrey and others made them into a part
    of our culture.

I believe that the identity of the being of light of NDE fame is similar to the question that
the Prophet Elijah posed to the tribes of Israel that he was sent to.

Statements like the following have caused a significant percentage of religious people to
decide that the being of light of NDE fame must be Satan... appearing as an angel of light....

    http://www.allaboutchristian.com/spirituality/

    http://www.politicalforum.com/opinion-polls/445248-being-light-nde-fame-g-d-satan.html

The being of light of NDE fame, G-d or Satan?

It seems to me that we are in a situation somewhat like the time of the Prophet Elijah.

    1Kings 18:21

I began to study these experiences a great deal back in 1990. They immediately made me realize that the "soul sleep" doctrine that I had been taught was almost certainly in error. I got kicked out of two churches due to disagreements mainly over that doctrine. But as a Christian there was no way that I could deny the possibility of people having an "out of the body experience!"

    2 Corinthians 12:2

But I know that many Christians struggle with these accounts..... partly because they are offended that people are shown going to heaven who have not "accepted Yeshua - Jesus" in quite the same manner that they did?!?!

Source? In my experience, you are the only one who goes on about near death experiences. I'm sure there are others, but extrapolating to "a significant percentage" seems overstated.
Well, given that we're dealing with lots of people with massively varying world views, I struggle to see how "I believe that the entity...", "It seems to me that..." and "I began to study" is at all relevant to the problem I was highlighting, which was peoples' disinterest in agreeing on pretty much anything.

Take me for instance. If the kind of information that would convince me existed and you gave it to me, I would be convinced, but you have failed to identify even what kind of arguments that I accept. If you can't even begin to convince me, how can you propose a solution in which you need to unite world views that are much more incompatible?

I believe these "near death revelations" are just a bunch of crap, nothing else. Seriously, there is absolutely no reason to believe any of it. It's just a guy saying he's smarter than other people because (god/mysticism/revelation etc.)

I've had a couple of near death experiences and each time there was 1 of 2 inner revelations: "RUN!" or "FIGHT!" depending on the situation.

But the question is, is the hell described in the Bible the same thing as The Void reported by
a percentage of near death experiencers?

If so.... the the definition of the word translated "forever" in Greek or Hebrew seems to fit because
that word really means "until the end of conditions last."

    http://www.near-death.com/experiences/notable/george-ritchie.html#a05d

Other NDE accounts give predictions that those lost souls will eventually be led out of their terrible attitude.

    Good points!

I admit that I am certainly investing a lot more time and effort in attempting to find an answer to these
questions than the majority of people are but I began a Facebook group entitled "Near death experiences Bring Us Together" and it has already
gone over 5000 members, so I am definitely a part of a significant group of people asking this type of
    questions.

In the description for the group I quoted some unifying information from a former Atheist who had an NDE.

    http://www.near-death.com/reincarnation/experiences/mellen-thomas-benedict.html#a09

I get the impression that the variation in religious belief is being used as something of a test to see if we will
respect people who don't fully agree with us on specific doctrines.

So what do you think of the Apostle Paul having an open mind to some sort of
out of body experience being possible?

    2Corinthians 12:1

Here is an example of a near death experiencer being shown something mysterious that Paul does
    go into in another chapter.

    http://www.near-death.com/experiences/notable/christian-andreason.html#a04h
Eventual universal salvation might have been the type of teaching received during an
out of body experience or NDE that Paul might consider unlawful.... but he does go into the topic
    in Romans 11.

Near death experiences are certainly famous enough to have people curious about it (although not so famous that you're justified at using the acronym NDE in a new conversation without explaining it) so I'm not at all surprised to see such a facebook group with a decent chunk of members. However, I'm not convinced that all of those have the same idea of how that would tie in with Satan, "the godhead", prophets, persuasion and so on.
You are having problems justifying the things you present. Presenting more ideas with just as little justification for belief is not helping your arguments.

True.... this cannot just happen but must be organized by a power that
is beyond anything that we are used to at this time.

    http://www.near-death.com/experiences/notable/howard-storm.html#a04
As you have probably guessed.... I believe that there is really zero
conflict between the valid near death experience accounts with the Jewish
    or Christian scriptures.

    Isaiah 11:9
"They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

Why? I find it completely credible that all of this is due to perfectly explainable processes (albeit in a hitherto unknown way).

I have to admit that a significant part of this is natural....
For example I feel that near death experience accounts are
transforming Christianity here in North America and making it possible for
five or more denominations to meet together through Alpha groups.....
that were bitter rivals in the 1960's to '80's.

Dr. Raymond Moody, Oprah and Hollywood have made NDE accounts a part of our culture.....
which is one of the important reasons why former enemies are treating each other
    much better......

Advanced is medical technology combined with the freedom of people to tell their story through
the internet are playing a quite natural role in shifting how we tend to view religion and spirituality......
so I can't totally disagree with your view on this!

I have to admit that the Christians that I meet here in Canada are no longer as worried about specific
doctrines as we used to be back in the 1970's and '80's. To a degree.... Christians are
fellow shipping more while trying to change each other's beliefs much less.

I have seen no indication of this, where do you see this? Facebook bubbles are common, are you sure you're not just seeing a lot of it because more of it is presented to you? What is your justification for believing NDEs are the cause of this transformation and exactly what transformation are you talking about?

What a load of horse (*)(*)(*)(*)! You know, when somebody physically dies, brain activity increases for a short period. If they are revived, it's no wonder that they might have some interesting hallucinations to talk about.

I think that's a pretty good reason to at least suspect that you're getting a biased view of the picture.

What kind of transformations of Christianity to you propose this has?

Here we go again. Another in a long list of spiritual gurus ready to take money from the sheeples. There is no essential difference between this and Mormonism, EST or Scientology. The same old nonsense repackaged for a new audience.

As far as saving the world by shifting "the whole world in the direction of genuine peace" - well, maybe not. Is seems there is not even peace in the NDE spiritual world...
    http://www.garyrenard.com/FraudAccusations.html

The purpose of this article is clarification, not defense. It is written mostly for the people who are personally involved, in order to correct the phony "controversy" that is based on an absurd article that was written by an unknown author named Bruce MacDonald, who claims that I "stole" Pursah's Gospel of Thomas, which is part of chapter 7 in my second book, Your Immortal Reality: How to Break the Cycle of Birth and Death.

Bruce MacDonald has written that he is the real St. Thomas, and I was really Simon Magus, and that I made up A Course in Miracles? Isn't it interesting that neither Perry nor MacDonald bothered to mention that along with their spurious accusations? I don't blame them. Can you say off the wall? Over the top? Out to lunch? It's very clear that Jesus dictated A Course in Miracles to Helen Schucman. For Robert Perry to be endorsing the writings of a man who says otherwise destroys his credibility with the Course community, and for Bruce MacDonald to be saying these things should do the same to any credibility that may have been given to him by any serious student of the Course.

My, my, my. Trouble in a paradise that supposedly can "shift the whole world in the direction of genuine peace"

No change or transformation in Christianity is ever going to lead us to peace, harmony or whatever today. Why?
Because Christianity is no longer the ideology within which it is possible to think at the highest frontiers of human thought. That mantle switched to philosophy and science centuries ago.
Whether the Jews can accept Christ, whether we can get a new understanding of Trans-substantiation, whether some ancient wisdom of the Tanakh can be re-interpreted, none of this means anything today. Because Christianity, like all religion today, functions to conceal, distort and hide the real social relations, the real conflicts etc. today.
The religious conflicts are over today. The controversies of Augustine, St.Francis, Luther, Calvin and Henry VIII etc. are over today. They no longer represent human thought at its highest, the frontiers of knowledge and the freshest controversies.
Religion (and new-age spirituality generally) serve only today as guarantee for individuals that things will be OK, that somehow, something outside of human society is going to guarantee that things will turn out alright.
There is no guarantee, no Big Other, nothing that exists outside of human beings and our social-symbolic order. Only in philosophy can we approach the freshest and most important controversies that are actually relevant today.

Only jesus can open the gates of heaven, loving him is more important than thinking of hell or the ultimatum. too often people see what they can and cannot do, ignoring the sentiment of heaven, instead of thinking about what they do up there.
