' The Florida sheriff who told sexual offenders and predators to steer clear of shelters during Hurricane Irma has made another strong statement. ' ' In a Facebook video, which had more than 73,000 views by midday Wednesday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd called on residents to arm themselves to be prepared for the next active-shooter situation, the Washington Post reports. He called the Texas church gunman “a nut” and “mentally deranged, obviously.” Then he added, “Someone’s got to be there with a gun to stop them.” “I mean, think about it,” he says in the video. “He shows up with an AR-15 and a lot of ammunition, sure it’s easy to kill people when there’s no one there shooting back. But all of that changed when the neighbor shows up with a gun and starts shooting at him.” Here's the deal..in mass shootings and other circumstances ...the quicker someone returns fire..the sooner it is over....most of the time you don't have to even hit them..they tend to flee and suicide when they meet resistance. MORE PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND MASS SHOOTINGS WOULD BECOME MUCH LESS SEVERE OR NON-EXISTENT. GUN FREE ZONES ARE TARGETS FOR CRAZY PEOPLE !!!!!
You know how when a cop shoots someone and we come to their defense saying its difficult to make these decisions in a split second. Now, imagine your a cop pulling up ton a scene with multiple armed civilians engaged in a fire fight. When an Innocent bystander gets shot by a John Wayne that gun owner needs to have insurance to cover that "mistake." Wouldn't you agree?
Red herring. This does not in any way address the issue at hand, and only serves to direct the conversation away from the point. Why do you not want to address the issue at hand?
Indeed such is not agreed with. In the decades that concealed carry has been legal in the united states, the above hypothetical scenario has, not even once, ever come into fruition. It is a false premise with no basis in reality, and as such will not be discussed.
Your choice is poor, John Wayne never shot any innocent people, I get the feeling you hate Law Abiding Gun owners and John Wayne for some odd reason that you should perhaps address in group therapy.
Yes, surprising as this may be for some, actors reciting a screenplay should not be confused with real life.
Have you ever noticed how often liberals use movie references to try and justify or make a point? It's hilarious.
Well the cops pulled up on the guy that shot the church shooter while he had him at gunpoint. He started to lower his rifle, but because he could shoot, move and communicate with cops---the cops told him to continue to keep the nut at gunpoint. People like you that have never had proper firearms training would face a higher potential of being shot. More learned people would know after securing the bad guy, would call out to the police when they are heard or seen coming, put their gun down and even lay on the ground with their hands out.
Yes, because they can't back up their talking points with real life examples, so they resort to fiction and movies and imagination, speculation, even downright lies and falsehoods, to back up their talking points.
I think it's even deeper than that. Their imaginations create a reality for them that seems to make actual reality seem like fantasy to them. It's very strange. They see actors as the people they play in movies for example.....to them, the pretend person is the real person.
Wait til the shooting stops and then arrest the living, send the wounded to a hospital and then the dead to the morgue.
It was certainly the approach utilized during the Pulse nightclub shooting. Law enforcement waited over an hour before entering, long after the perpetrator and numerous victims were already dead.
