And because its Florida, home to millions of anti-mask anti-shutdown anti-distancing anti-science anti-compression trash people Florida will undoubtedly see a doubling in its cases and deaths within months - maybe less. Thank God Joe Biden won because he will at least try to get the incompetent slob Gov MoRon Deathsantis to enact a mask mandate for a state that has been in desperate need of one for months.

It will be the most fulfilling pleasure of my life when in two years I can vote against MoRon DeSantis and every other Republican on my ballot. I'm going to have to take blood thinners on election day just so I can stand in line to vote without a zipper-bursting hardon. I kid you not people its going to be such an event. I am so anxious to help to put my money and time into campaign against this piece of garbage that I can hardly contain my excitement. Every death this terrorist has helped bring about will be avenged come election day.

Funny how the story is identical in details to the story out of Colorado.

    Gotta love the narrative! :roflol:

Has it hit you yet? Has the full weight of it set in?

COVID denial cost the GOP the Presidency and early indicators seem to suggest that in a few days it just might have ended up costing them the Senate as well. And if that happens you know the DNC is going to want to create 2 new states which will add 4 new perma-blue Senators so goodbye chances of ever seeing a GOP majority in the Senate in our lifetime. Congressional reapportionment happens this year and will affect the 2022 midterms, early figures strongly favor the left in creation of new seats so that Republican take back of the House people are buzzing about right now might have an even higher margin to overcome. Plus we all know if court packing happens every redistricting challenge will fall in the left's favor.

So we are quite possibly looking at a future where it is impossible for the GOP to ever hold majority control in any of the three branches of federal government for generations to come. Democrats were always going to try to achieve this but they never enjoyed such a massive surge of support from Independents and first-time voters as they did this election season and it is 100% due in thanks to the GOP's incompetent, selfish, belligerent, stance on COVID. Imagine if this surge in momentum continues and they end up taking everything. Anti-masking "COVID is a myth" GOPers will have traded away their entire vision of America over a flat-Earther-esque baby tantrum. It will go down in the books as the single most sensational implosion of a political party in all of history. Of all the things the GOP has done, in 1000 years this is what they'll be remembered for.

Cheap masks have nothing whatsoever to do with where variants of the virus show up on the planet. BTW I wear a mask in public even when it's not required. And I've learned to cut my own hair.

Very mature take except for, well, all of it. Hope COVID-19 (2.0) doesn't getcha. If it does, then it is President Biden's fault.

Cheers on doing your part and on learning a new skill. I've been cutting my own hair since middle school. Well cutting is a strong word, #3 blade on the clipper, buzz buzz buzz done.

I wonder how long it will be before psychiatrists recognize "COVID Derangement Syndrome" as an official psychological condition?

Meanwhile OP, thank you for sharing that you are "going to have to take blood thinners on election day just so [you] can stand in line to vote without a zipper-bursting hardon", because that doesn't sound crazy at all.

LoL, I'm just expressing what pure pleasure, not to mention the honor, it will be to cast my vote against DeathSantis as a way to avenge those who have become sick and those who have died while this failure of a Governor has done everything he possibly can to retard Florida's COVID response, to manipulate our infection/death data, and to surge ahead with his (and the GOPs) disastrous anti-masking anti-shutdown agenda. The only downside is that I have to wait 2 years to do it. He has to go, Libby, he has just been an abysmal failure and unmitigated threat to our people.

My vote will be canceling yours. I think he has done an excellent job, as does literally every other Floridian I know personally.

Not a chance. :) I very much respect most of your opinions on regular issues/current events, but when it comes to masks I think you're batshit crazy. (No malice intended with that comment, just honesty.)

Maybe in two years I will convince you your mask wearing crusade, and this vengeance of yours against anyone who won't try to force you to wear a mask, was a little insane. ;)

    Pure horse manure.

DeSantis has done a good job navigating his way through this Scamdemic. For all practical purposes things are back to normal here in Florida, and that is because of good leadership on the part of the Governor.

At least the sheeple have stopped hoarding toilet paper! Many are still wearing the silly mask, but that's their prerogative.

So masks become the law of the land and EVERYONE wears one under penalty of law.....and Covid's new mutations continue to cause infections since no one can say if the current vaccines will have any effectiveness with mutations.... then tell us all, mask worshipers, JUST WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF A PLAN "B"??? Nobody can step outside their residence except to purchase food and necessities on days assigned to them by government? Or better still the National Guard rolling into neighborhoods tossing out boxes of supplies on a monthly basis and Americans can dash out their quarantined homes, elbowing for food like refugees? GIVE US YOUR PLAN "B"!!! Seems nothing short of total surrender, economic and societal collapse will satisfy your fear. Well guess what? COVID IS HERE TO STAY!!! Just like it's little brother Influenza! And like Influenza more people SURVIVE than die, like it or not.

Both are rural area, people who don't bother with masks or distancing on the weekend when he goes to the post office, church, the bar, and the well-traveled women of ill-repute later on for an hour.

Sounds similar stories and outcomes. Its not a surprise at all.

Obviously you are very misinformed on the Colorado cases. There’s nothing rural about where those cases came from. LOL

He's just misinformed in general. I'm laughing at his depiction of rural areas too, like a scene from some bad western, the only thing missing is a train heist and a shootout at the ok corral.

Yes, anyone who bases their posts on media reporting alone are very misinformed. Ah, a train heist. Me and the boys haven’t pulled a train heist lately. Ought to do that. The stagecoaches have been so lucrative with Amazon and all we’ve completely forgotten the old train heist. Hey, Tex, go wrangle the horses, and rattle yer hocks, it’s 30 miles to the UP line and we’ve got a train to rob....

    LOL!

Wow, the utterly cluelessness of the peanut gallery never ceases to amaze me.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbert,_Colorado

Elbert County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2010 census, the population was 23,086.

The cases did not come from Elbert county. They were cases in National Guard troops who drove to the care home from the Front Range. Denver or Colorado Springs. I’m very familiar with Elbert county. It is rural and I would never claim otherwise. I did not claim it wasn’t rural. I pointed out the cases in question did not come from Elbert county.

Yes, you have shown cluelessness, but not on my part.
    Edit:
The confirmed case in question is a man from Arapahoe County. The third most populous county in Colorado. It’s suburbs of Denver. The case did not come from Elbert county. Period.

Don't worry about it. The chances of you or anyone else surviving covid-19 is zero. It's game over. Nothing you can do about it. Your living in constant terror ever waking second is entirely justified. You, all of us, are doomed. Only people not as wise as you don't know that.

The positive test sample was taken 24 hours after the guardsman arrived at the Simla care home. No other cases of this strain exist in the care home. Based on these two facts, it’s impossible for the case to have originated in Elbert County. The mutant strain virons got a ride to Simla from a Denver suburb inside a guardsman. The positive test sample was taken in Simla. The now more numerous mutant strain virons rode back to the Denver suburb from whence they came and are now there for the foreseeable future.

Simla and Elbert county have no relevance outside of being the geographical location where the guardsman had a q-tip stuck up his nose.

You can meet my sobering truth with facetious sarcasm if that's how you need to cope. Believe it or not I do empathize with Republicans right now, sometimes the most important lessons are the hardest to learn. The last four years have been a hell of a ride; America rose to great heights and Pres Trump does deserve credit for a lot of it. But we have also fallen so very, very low and Pres Trump, along with much of the GOP and many many many of its voters, must also take credit for that as well.

COVID was not a 'liberal hoax', it was not a 'msm myth', it was not 'basically the flu', no matter how many times these words have been repeated by those with MAGA hats on their heads, it simply wasn't true. Republicans en masse spent nearly every single day of 2020 selfishly and belligerent resisting masks, social distancing, shutdowns, lockdowns, and every other mitigation strategy we've deployed to stop this virus. Every single day, Jake. Well, the people have spoken. We were pissed and we wanted the those who stood in the way GONE. And so we did the exact thing which we're empowered to do and we voted them out. There was no steal, there was only the unified voice of Americans coming together to say: President Trump, YOU ARE FIRED!
