I have tried several times to donate money to this forum with my Visa card. However every time I try your website refuses to take my money by posting a pop up that states you can not verify the billing address that I have entered. (It is correct and works on any other site I have tried for years) I am happy to donate to this excellent forum, but I don't want to jump through any hoops. If you would like my support please fix your website. Thanks, Jack

Not really a "returning member," per se, but it sort of fits in that I've not actively posted here for a long time. I haven't actively posted anywhere else for a long time either, I just mostly read other posters' thoughts and contributions and browse more than I post. Just figured I'd say hi.

Hello again. I registered a year and a half or so ago, waded in, then changed computers and lost this place for awhile. But I'm back hoping for some good spirited discussions among friends.

Edit: I still bake great cookies.

Back during the 1970's when California was being invaded from the South, we tried to warn the rest of America that California was being invaded by foreigners and if you don't help us stopping the invasion, you'll find yourself having to push #1 for English.

The rest of America ignored what was happening in California until it was to late.

That sounds classist. That's my new go-to move now. I accuse you of classism and you don't know what the (*)(*)(*)(*) I'm talking about because it doesn't exist in the American lexicon. :blankstare:

I remember the word "classism" being thrown around during the sixties.

    It's just another ism.

    classism

    [klas-iz-uh m]

    noun

    1.
a biased or discriminatory attitude based on distinctions made between social or economic classes.

    2.
the viewing of society as being composed of distinct classes.

    Origin of classism
    1835-1845

You don't like art? Art is composed of ism's. Impressionism, realism, expressionism, modernism. It means something to someone, but not to you? And yet most political philosophy goes under an "ism." Politics is an art. B.A. anyone? :blankstare:

Ism's are great if you know how to apply them.

I know you can't use an ism when it comes to guns, hunting, fishing, Hells Angels and Harley's .

But if Obama were to be allowed any longer to stay in the White House I'm pretty sure he would come up with an "ism" for them.

None of that requires abstract thought, which is essentially what an "ism" is.

When you speak Obama's name put some respek on it! He's the best President of my lifetime. Other than the whole 4th amendment stuff, which he really hasn't even participated participated in... publicly. So good. :blankstare:
