We have a couple of "new" posters.... Who registered their accounts like a decade ago.

What's up with that?

Since this thread was pinned I presume I am supposed to announce my return in a manner that garners the attention of the masses.

In which case you are in luck because I have exciting news from the world of Science. That feeling of being alone in the Universe is because we are surrounded by stupidity. However Nature never does anything in singles, if we discover a ginormous black hole you can rest assured that there will be others. This applies to life elsewhere in the universe, we have evidence it exists here so it must also exist elsewhere.

However we do not have irrefutable evidence of intelligent life here on this planet, present company excepted, so the odds of there being a "superior" intelligent life form somewhere else in the universe is not covered by this latest finding. Life elsewhere in the universe is probably on a par with what we have here.

Well here I am again and indeed am looking for signs of intelligent life. It's getting harder to find these days. This used to be a forum that allowed some differences of opinion, understood that there is more than one angle/concept to discuss in any given topic, that wasn't obliterated by the trolls, sound biters and hit and run nonsense. Is this the place? Please tell me this is the place!

(Waves at Deridio_Te but don't know if he remembers me. We used to be poles apart in our sociopolitical points of view but he is one who at least thought about things and made me think.)

 

Hi FF, nice to see you again. Stat is also here and you will probably bump into him at some point too.

Being poles apart is allowed with the rules of civil discourse. The Rules are applied fairly and evenly so neither side is at a disadvantage.

As far as signs of intelligent life goes that is a rare commodity indeed for all online forums. I have mellowed somewhat so now I give everyone a 2nd chance but there are always those who will step over the line so my policy is just report and ignore. Keeps the air fresher and my BP lower.

Hello old friend. Good to see you. We may have often disagreed and will continue to do so, but you are one who has never been mean or cruel or stupid. I don't know if I have mellowed or just become more philosophical about things. I seem to equally anger people on both sides of the aisle but I swear I am as cuddly and lovable as ever. LOL. So anyway. . .onward we go.
