Former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino, who performed thousands of abortions during his years of practice, including well over a hundred late-term abortions, gives a lecture at a college. At one point during his practice, he eventually became Pro-Life, and realized he could no longer perform abortions anymore and had to speak out. The lecture is a little over an hour long, but very good. It is a mostly college students in the audience, some of them vocally in favor of a women's reproductive rights, and he addresses their questions, a few of the others are members of the Pro-Life club on campus, so it's an interesting mesh of people in the audience on different sides, but they manage to keep it civil. He certainly brings up some interesting points, things people don't normally think about during the abortion debate, due to his unique perspective having been an abortion doctor. Subjects in the video. First he tells a little about his background and the story of why he became Pro-Life. Then he quickly touches law and constitutionality, has some cynical witty commentary about that, covers trimesters, and the loophole of "women's health", which he explains can allow an abortion to take place at any point in the pregnancy. Then he brings up a few examples of how much late-term abortions cost. Having been in the abortion business, he seems pretty cynical. He answers several questions, and then explains some cases where abortion is necessary for health of the woman, but also explains that in many of these cases they do a C-section and there's no reason to kill the fetus.
I did not watch the video....I also do not need to taste moldy cheeses to know I don't like it. I could post a lecture by someone who also changed their mind on something if you like.
I watched the first 7 minutes of the video in the OP. That's where he describes a second-trimester abortion. You know what? A few years ago an abortion doctor, a poster on here, offered for me to drop by his office to show me the procedure, but I didn't go at the time because it was too far away from me and I didn't have a map, or a smartphone, or the wherewithal, to find his place. I wonder what it would have been like if I went. Oh well.
He actually admits that banning abortion(taking away women's right to their own bodies ) is slavery? That is the ONLY parallel....and it's not really a parallel, they are exactly the same thing and if he doesn't know that and admit that he's just another Anti-Choicers who thinks women should be enslaved property of the government.....he certainly won't stand out as anything different from the usual run-of-the -mill Anti-Choicer.
Do you think the point of political forums is reading things and watching videos you like? That would just be a pointless feel-good echo chamber, wouldn't it?
I very much enjoy learning new things and gaining perspectives I do not have...I do not enjoy propaganda meant to corrupt my educated opinions with emotional diatribe. I do not need the video to know what it is about or review the details of an unpleasant subject as I am well aware of why someone who dealt with abortions first hand would find it disagreeable or even brutality, he got his hands quite bloody. I do not agree with Abortion either, I do understand my opinion on this should not be forced on others or take their bodily freedoms. My position is the result of my deep feelings of individual freedom and my understanding of human biology which will not be changed by emotional appeal so the video is a waste of my time.
I don't have to watch a video of one person's opinion …. No matter what HIS opinion on abortion is I will always believe women have a right to their own bodies. No amount of emotional claptrap will ever change that. But if I need a new heart or kidneys I'll be sure to call him and demand he give me his.....since he does not believe that people have a right to their own bodies...
You mean the ZEF of course...any Zygote, Embryo or fetus has less cogniition and function than the Cow did before you had it for dinner...was it good in your opinion?
Why should you respond to a thread about a video if you didn't bother watching any part of that video?
Because I know what kind of videos you have in your threads...…. Does your video say that women have a right to their own body just like everyone else?
