Have you heard the news that James Dannenberg told Roberts to kiss his butt and that Roberts is the worst Chief Justice in over 100 years?

I predict that your legacy will ultimately be as diminished as that of Chief Justice Melville Fuller, who presided over both Plessy and Lochner. It still could become that of his revered fellow Justice John Harlan the elder, an honest conservative, but I doubt that it will. Feel free to prove me wrong.

You know what the truly SCARY part of it is?

Roberts as a "Swing Vote" is the only thing keeping the Court from jumping the shark into a Total RW Nightmare.

Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, and Gorcuch will always vote in Lockstep with the RW Position.

At least Roberts will actually attempt to listen to the arguments before voting.

Unlike the other 4 RW Justices (whose votes are pre-determined).

 

You wouldn’t have the Affordable Care Act without Roberts vote.

I wish there were more judges like Roberts and Kennedy and I am a right wing conservative.

We need judges who vote based on their interpretation of the constitution.

People like judge Thomas and Sotomayor vote on everything based on their party’s affiliation view.

Hypothetically say the Dem’s win big in November and they implement Medicare for all including illegals.

It will only be a matter of time before an illegal wants a sex change on our dime.

I do not believe the framers would approve, but I would bet my house & 401k that Sotomayor would vote in favor of the illegals sex change on the taxpayers dime.

With very limited knowledge of the constitution, I wish Vegas had betting odds on how each SCOTUS judge is going to vote.

You don’t need to know the constitution if it is not used in determining the decision. They just use the constitution to spin their decision in their party’s direction.

Let’s be fair... Breyer, Kagan, RGB & Sotomayor decisions are also pre-determined.

A District judge criticizing the Supreme Court Chief Justice is like a backup XFL QB criticizing Tom Brady....

It may be entertaining.... but it don’t mean anything.

 

Well, as a judicial member should be overwhelmingly aware of opinion is just that, opinion. His letter states no exact instances of rulings just a broad summary of personal indifferences. Hell, I still think food stamps, Income Security, Medicaid and Welfare are biased but I still support my govt that spends 65% of our US budget on those policy fundings. Should I quit being an American because I strongly disagree?

 

There is a theory that everyone needs someone to tell him what is wrong with him. It really doesn't matter who is doing the criticizing or even if what he is saying is the truth. The point is to get the person to accept criticism without flying off the handle. I suppose it can be considered a form of gas lightning.

Dannenberg directed his comments to Roberts but the other Justices know what he said and they will reflect on it and may alter their behavior as a consequence. We will see if it has any effect on them.

 

Why do you want to eliminate the safety net that helps your fellow citizens during their time of need? Do you think you are immune from disaster and will never need those programs?

 

It's a well-written letter but I'm not persuaded. I don't always agree with Roberts but I think he's fair-minded. Same with Gorsouch and Kavanaugh. I even liked Scalia.

The only real turd on the court is Thomas. Guy has no principles. He doesn't even ask questions during oral argument because he's already made up his mind.

 

I will dance in the streets if Thomas croaks before I do. Scalia was garbage.

 

Here's the pattern under Roberts, before a major decision comes the road that devastates us, a smaller, symbolic fig leaf comes that asserts this court's 'independence' from the right wing executives that appointed.

Its like getting a candy bar, and knowing the real beating is coming in two weeks.

He is the most powerful Chief Justice (in history) just b/c the Court has become so politicized.

His vote to uphold the ACA was Epic.

Scalia was a great lawyer/writer. But he was extremely biased.

 

Yeah that’s messed up. Unfortunately I have seen it on both sides. There used to be a conservative poster named choppedliver. He once said that RBG is a traitor and deserves to die a gruesome death. Haven’t seen him on since. I hope he was shamed by his fellow conservatives into leaving for good.

Time of need or way of lifestyle? Obama made govt assistance an expectation. If JFK was alive today then his party would have demanded his speech be changed to “Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you.”

Sotomayor is the left wing equivalent of Thomas.
