    you're wrong french culture has not vanished from the rest of canada, there are french communities right across the country and french only schools in every major city...


    incorrect, technically the indigenous peoples were first.... but from among europeans Vikings were 1st, English 2nd, Portuguese or Basques were 3rd and 4th... french 5th...



    it was nothing like the WW2 occupation...and the separatists despite Quebecois being the clear majority in the province twice rejected independence in referendums...

    Quebec's differences are far from just language. They drink and smoke more, they are less religious, they value more social services and most importantly per capita they suck at hockey.

    When Toronto won the Cup has nothing to do with this. Ontario born players are all over the NHL.

    and quebec players aren't all over the NHL?...what is irrelevant to the topic is hockey players...

    per capita, Quebeckers are grossly underrepresented.

    I support the rights of Quebecers to print up their own provincial currency note similar to how Alberta did during the Great Depression.

    Quebec could get away with doing this with much less opposition than Alberta faced at that time.

    I personally think that the Alberta provincial scrip was opposed for similar reasons to why the government of Austria shut down the Worgl, Austria local money experiment.
