Former McDonalds CEO Ed Rensi is warning that a surge in baby boomers retiring is going to be catastrophic to future hiring and our economy. Many have already left the economy and he predicts it will only get worse as many cash out their inflated 401k's. which will further diminish our already depleted workforce

Just in time for increased automation to fill the gap. The larger concern is what happens to low skill workers when demand for their labor shrinks?

McDonald's sucks I suggest you stop patronizing the establishment that way they won't need the workers to exploit.

We will always need low skill workers in our economy as they re the only ones doing physical work.

Within 10 years those over age 65 will outnumber those 18 and less. A disaster.

We can look at Japan as a blueprint of where we are going.

We're heading toward an economy where we will see fewer and fewer employees and more and more independent contractors. We'll see more people retiring early, but we'll also see more retirees continuing to contract and consult after retirement. COVID has fast-tracked a trend that was already happening. A lot of industries aren't ready for the employee shortage and will have to make dramatic adjustment. When it comes to employment, we're going into a seller's market.

Our decadant state, long generated by a generation perhaps even a century of ignorant American politicians(whose bare initial successes inflated both their political value as well as their solutions) brought us to this point in history.

More and more of Americas "teenagers" are qualifying for better paying jobs that don't require physical labor.
Not only that, like someone else stated, they have school.

There's a labor shortage, even with homelessness. And many homeless are already employed.

Homelessness does not mean skilled, nor competent to perform tasks. It also does not mean unemployed.

You are saying that in the same thread where y’all are saying “low” skilled laborers are needed?
Looks like my point has been proven
I love when you guys prove yourselves wrong

Low skilled laborers are needed. Homelessness doesn't change that.

@Darthcervantes , if you are truly that concerned about homelessness in this country, I have some resources for you. There's lots you can do to help.

Our labor problems are just beginning they will only get worse unless we begin to address them.
