In a Dec. 2017 legal filing, though, Flynn admitted lying in the March filings to the Justice Department, including by falsely stating that the Flynn Intel Group did not know to what extent the Turkish government was involved in the project and that the op-ed was written on his own initiative.

The Logan Act applies to private citizens, not Flynn who was incoming NSC.

 

One of the top prosecutors from Robert Mueller's team, Andrew Weissmann, says that the special prosecutor's office (and team) let the country down and ended up letting Republicans spin the actual results from the final report. While he says there was no evidence of collusion, he says that all of the obstruction of justice was clear as day and that this should have been made more clear to the public.

That’s wrong. THAT is what he led about.

 

He was a private citizen. He was NOT part of the acting administration, therefore a private citizen until they take office.

 

They really have trouble with that fact, don't they? I mean, big time issues understanding the timeline and responsibilities involved...

But in a way, I'm glad there is no longer such a worry as the Logan Act... that will allow Joe and Kamala to get us back in the JCPOA well before January...

Actually, no they aren't. The DOJ dropped the concord case because they would have to reveal "sources and methods". But don't feel bad that MSNBC didn't tell you the particulars.

The DOJ to this day has yet to prove the Russian hackings beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

It's not illegal for America's NSA to have contacts with foreign actors and it's not in the FBI'S jurdisction to inquire about the executive branch.

What Flynn should have told Comeys cronies was "need not to know" and shoo'd them out the door.

 

You are correct AN. It is not illegal for the America NSA to have those contacts. The only problem was that he wasn't that when he had the contacts. And the FBI didn't alert the admin to this, the NSA did.

 

The DOJ listened to the transcript of the call and found it to be legit.....sorry

 

He was incoming and so to me, for all intents and purposes he was. We know that the Obama team and Bush teams had contact before they took office. No such complaints.

But then I admit: We weren't boondazzled with the lie of a century either.
