    Uh...no, not if it's the law. Go firearm dealers would risk their license to sell to you and not doing the necessary paperwork.

    And if you keep having your guns "stolen" you are now a risk and should not be sold a gun. Took me less than 15 seconds to come up with this one.

    It’s not an overnight solution.
    But it’s indefinitely better than doing what we are doing, which is nothing.

    Apply it to new weapons and grandfather all existing ones.
    If they are sold to an ffl dealer they get registered.
    Unregistered weapons confiscated for any reason will be destroyed.

    They will slowly dwindle

    Trump was anti "assault rifles" until the NRA put money in his campaign coffer. Your reasoning don't bear fruits.

    The only solution is to do nothing, apparently...

    Everything else is an attacking on lawful gun owners who are apparently unable to function if they have to register the weapon.

    I bet most of these people support voter ID’s as well.

    Sure but my point is that there are enough illegal guns in the US right now for any criminal to get one with no problem. And I'm sure that there are criminal firearm "procurers" which can get anything a criminal is willing to pay for.

    It's a non solution. If there is demand a supply will be provided. You don't seriously think that the supply of illegal firearms in the US is going to be depleted over time do you ?? That assumes that there is a fixed number now - there is not.

    The person is overly emotional on the topic
    The person doesn’t have a sound argument
    Or the person is just an *******

    Maybe a combination of the above

    It takes a long time and expense to register a gun. Many people won't bother. They will not be able to defend themselves if needed. The exorbitant fees and requirements which some local government requires today to purchase a firearm results in a reduction in the number of people who can defend themselves. Criminals don't have to deal with 17 separate requirements to own a gun in WDC.

    Sure Republicans aren't beyond correction. I'm not sure I argued that they were.

    Yes my agenda is preserving rights sometimes you have to grease the wheels that's why I pay my dues to the NRA.
