Trump, the Anti Establishment Canidate, won last nites primary by a large %,
Big news right? I thought so.

I got up this morning, anxious to hear some details and analysis. i turned on Fox News, and low and behold, Fox didn't think last nights primary was the biggest news of the morning. I was disappointed to see them using their time talking about everything else but:
-a long segment on the new hands free cars
-an even longer segment on Obama being dead wrong for wanting to close GITMO. focusing on why we should continue to spend hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars, to hold under 100 prisoners off our shores,
...because we r too afraid of them to put them in our federal prisons here, I guess (shrug)
    - the bad weather and tornados

Inbetween those majors segments, they would mention last nights primary in passing.

"Fair and Balanced" my hind end!

it's 20 till 9am here, and as I am typing this up, they did turn their attention to last nites primary for about 5 minutes, BUT, they are already back to talking about the weather. I guess they don't want to talk about it much since their campaign against Trump failed so miserably.

now they are talking about 2 window washers stuck on the side of a Bldg.

It took awhile to edit this post. now Fox is discussing Rubios strong suits and all the other candidates weaknesses. they promise that after the next batch of commercials, we get to hear for the millionth time, what an evil witch Hillary is.
...are u kidding me. if last nights primary taught them anything, it should have taught them that Hillary IS NOT the republican parties biggest problem!

    lol
now they r talking about Apple not helping to unlock the San Bernado terrorist Iphone

    jeeze!

No wonder devout Fox News viewers are so misinformed. they aren't a news channel. they are just the mouth piece of the Republican establishment.

This "fake" news show started/intended out as a reality program... like most of the others on TV...pure garbage. They picked-up some cast-offs (so-called Journalists) from other TV channels and pretended to be a news channel. These viewers thought it was funny to watch some crazy news stuff, only to realize it was true coming from a bunch of nitwits trying to put across some news to those that had no idea they were being over come with fake new articles. Keep watching... till death due you part.

Fox news is in the tank for Rubio. The press secretary for the Rubio campaign is the daughter of a VP at Fox.

In a court room lawyers for FauxNoise admitted that it was LYING to their viewers but said that it was allowed because they are an ENTERTAINMENT channel and not an actual news channel.

They won the case with that argument and nothing that FauxNoise has broadcast since then contradicts that court room admission.

The fact that FauxNoise is now taking a hit because of T-Rump is actually quite ironic. A reality TV channel pretending to be "news" being taken down by a reality TV personality pretending to be a "politician".

    :roflol:

2016 is turning out to be highly entertaining...but not necessarily in the way that FauxNoise was intending it to be.

Fox News is naturally a joke of a channel.

They always have been. It's why we call it "so called news". And Gitmo? WTF? Why are we spending hundreds of millions of dollars on that? Oh yea, I forgot, because Obama wants to close it. That's when budgets are suddenly not important right?

I would think anyone who still believes Fox is non-biased would.
....especially after watching how they have portrayed Rubio, compared to how portrayed all the other candidates.

Bear in mind that every Republican presidential nominee since Reagan, with the sole exception of Bob Dole, has come from inherited money.

    That includes Donald Trump!

I suspect that Roger Ailes, like Rience Priebus and the rest of them, are watching the monster they begat with coniderable fear and loathing.

Many of us believe Fox News is "Fair and Balanced" in that they fairly present more than just the republican or conservative side. We have not said they are not biased, although they are not biased to the degree others are. Of course, Fox is admittedly biased toward conservatism because they know that's what the public wants and needs to see, hence their high ratings.

I don't mean to be snide, but....
I didn't see a lot of that this morning

what I saw was them shining the spotlight on EVERYTHING, but the real news, which was what happened last night at the caucus

The research and demographics on Fox, and it's record contradict your assertions.

Fox is not in the news business. It's in the political marketing and entertainment businesses.

Fox makes a show of pretending to present both sides. But most of the liberals they have on are front men they employ. And most of them are largely unknown outside the Fox universe.

Fox counts on the fact that most of its audience is slavishly loyal relies and primarily on Fox for their information (or like minded right wing media). Their audience doesn't know any better because it does not look outside it's circle of validation.

The Fox audience is statistically the least likely to get information from other sources. Over the years, research has continually confirmed that the Fox audience, far from being shown both sides, are far more likely to believe (often with conviction) things that are entirely false. In some surveys, Fox viewers scored worse than people who ignore the news altogether.

truly laughing out loud this time !

    (big amused grin)
    "devout" ?
    no, I don't think so
    (chuckle)

But I do try to listen to both sides of the argument. i want to b well informed. I "devoutly" listen to many different sources of information.

my personal opinion is that Fox purposely diverts attention from pertinent issues.

Their ratings are high because FOX is entertainment one, and secondly, the entertainment this audience wants and needs to see, revolves around ignorance and hatred. This is what they need fed to them continually as Spencer Tracy so eloquently pointed out; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h2fOF_Bygw That way the so called FOX news crowd of the Right never has to deal with real information or the truth. This is the monster they keep in the closet, never to get out. They've abandoned intelligence and information for entertainment.

Lol yeah I hear ya, I like to watch a lot of different channels as well They all divert to different extents, its why back in 2007 I made the comment that Journalism is dead. In the last 15 to 20 years News has become some sort of hybrid political extension. Real journalist report both sides fairly and without bias. There is not a single Journalist on television. They may be out there but their employers will never allow them to commit journalism. A few years back I read an article that illustrated that the National Enquirer broke more actual news stories that year than the mainstream.

this is often repeated and makes me chuckle every time!

what you are saying in essence, is that all the people employed by every network in the world except FOX,
....people who are well educated, and whose job it is to be VERY well informed on political issues and their subtle nuances,
has a bias against the right.

    I don't think that's true.
    but....
if that were true, it would mean the most well informed people in the world, disagree with the Republican's positions
... and that doesn't give u second thoughts about ur position?

I've been seeing lots of coverage on the election today which is mostly centered on the
theme of how to stop Donald Trump and which candidate stands the best chance of
doing it/who has the path to stop Donald Trump.

Then show us he's wrong, instead of taking the low road by attacking the person. Is that all you are capable of doing? "In some surveys, Fox viewers scored worse than people who ignore the news altogether". That is Mr. Tom's quote. And I'm sure he would love for you to challenge his survey claim, but you won't will you? It' easier to attack him personally, than have to deal with finding out the facts isn't it? I'll say it again, all roads lead to fanaticism and ignorance for the Right. And Fox News is the place to get it.
