The only "climate" emergency is faux climate of political insanity using "weather bad" as a psychological weapon to coerce more tax money out of already overtaxed western civilization.

No one has suggested anyone stop oil and gas today though we do need to be at zero emissions by 2030. Fracking however is different.
    https://anotherangryvoice.blogspot.com/2013/07/fracking-tories-osborne-howell-browne.html

I do not understand why the US the richest country in the world has not used some of that money to invest in renewable sources of energy. I cannot remember what I was looking at last night but it was some renewable resource. They were comparing the US to I think it was Germany. The US had only developed about 1/100th or maybe even less than the other country. Where the US will pay and pay big is where it is not dealing with the climate emergency now. That is going to become more and more expensive. If the US finds itself having to pay massively for this it will be nobody's fault but its own as it more than anyone had the resources to get its house in order.

That said I do know that in some areas in the US there is massive work going on to get to Zero emissions. They do not deserve to be held back by those influenced by fake news. Mind you checking that out and I did know New York was your best but even they are not expecting to be carbon neutral until 40/50 which really is too late according to latest information.

New York just passed the most ambitious climate target in the country

UK Labour is aiming for 2030 which is what we all need to be doing.

The later you leave it, the more it is going to cost you.

Yes we all know, Scientists are so thick they spend their time pretending to do research and just for a bit more fun give the wrong results - which to some extent is true. They have been very wary of giving people too much reality for fear of scaring the living daylights out of them. This is now changing as we are in such an emergency

That deliberate creation of fake news by those who care for no one but their wallet sure was bought by some.

The French were dancing in the streets of Paris recently over their government's similar policies.

Well, it sure is going to be a lot easier to eat BBQ ribs and chicken when the vegans and many Z gen and some % of millenials believing they have only 10 to 12 years, have left the planet.. I am going to kind of miss you all, its been a real blast of entertainment, especially all that LARPING with Antifa and the fun games with the smartphone looking for imaginary cartoon characters in the middle of the freeway.

If your knowledge of fracking comes from that link, then you don't know anything. That site is garbage and whoever wrote what it said is an imbecile.

    Thank you.

Those riches are not shared but are in the hands of a very few whose single occupation is scratching together even greater riches through lucrative investments, ie the manufacture of arms, etc.

No that isn't true. The French banned fracking in 2011 after pressure by the French people.

You are adorable. You believe you no more than all the scientists in the world. What a wonderful thing an ego is and so easy to manipulate.

You do have a point in that the issue of who pays is one which needs to be addressed especially given we are now in an economic situation similar to the one which led to WW2 - though even worse given that technology itself is going to create a situation where there simply will not be jobs for people to do. Through neo liberalism we have created a new aristocracy who have so much power political scientists are saying we now have a new kind of feudalism.

In this we seem to have entered a new kind of insanity where Governments are scared to do what they need to do for the survival of their people for fear of the reaction of the people.

We could learn something from the British Labour Party has worked with this with its Unions. Workers were concerned about losing their jobs while addressing climate necessity. The reality is whether or not we deal with the climate necessity people are going to be losing their jobs. It is just whether they are dead or not and certainly in the short term working to make the world safe will provide some jobs. Clearly it is the system which needs to be changed and that is true regardless of whether we address climate disaster or not. That is the understanding they came to at the Labour Party Conference.

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/sep/25/labour-green-new-deal

Labour have faced this head on. The current system is broken. It cannot be saved. Even if the world decided on mass suicide it would not be saved.

Being faced with the biggest issue the planet has ever faced, Labour and the Unions and the workers have chosen life, have chosen to meet the situation we are in, accept the old is gone and work for a new creative future founded in genuine democracy. A Labour Government after the General Election may see the UK acting with the sanity you suggested a few posts away and leading the world towards a future. The current situation really is one where we come together for the good of all or where we cease to be. There is no room for the one who wants to take everything for himself and to hell with the others. We are as never before in this together.

This is the raw and fundamental truth that simply must be acknowledged if there is to be any future for mankind. "It cannot be saved". That is the unfortunate fact which (had Democracy been cared for and nurtured ) could have been avoided by purging the bad from a good system. But no, it doesn't work that way any longer. Now, it's just push forward on the rims because no one is interested in repairing the puncture. Political parties have become cults ... either you accept the whole package "as is" or you're not a believer, hence you are not welcome, you are the enemy - or as American politicians are wont to put it, "You're either with us or against us!"

There it is "genuine democracy". Yes! Bravo, Alexa.

If the future of mankind depends upon the manipulation of the ignorance of the masses by the environmentalism of the Progressives and the Socialists, then the the future of Mankind is re-education centers, concentration camps, torture chambers, and cemeteries, much like today’s Venezuela.

Shame on the horrid little minds that preach these delirious doomsday scenarios to the ignorant masses. Living life by reason will not destroy the planet, nor the life of the Existence’s greatest creation, Man, the only known creative mind in the Universe.

All the scientist? You mean all the scientist that were asked. Not the same thing.
And if you have to post an Ocasional Cortext video to push your argument, you've already lost the plot.

Ok so the UK is to have its third election since 2015 all because the super elite are hoping to line their pockets with a No Deal Brexit. Problem is British people have already said that there is an issue more important than Brexit for our long time well being and that of course is our survival. Students and Seniors are demanding that as part of the election campaign we have a debate as to how they will deal with this. I suspect could be the winner.

Alexa, the climate has been very problematic but anything we do is not going to change that. More than likely those changes have to do with what's going on inside the earth than what's going on with the outside. The best that can be done by these so called experts, is to study it (which I think they are doing), and take precautionary methods to protect people as best they can.

Those who control the media and your mind and who rave about man destroying the climate, are the same ones who advocate a one world government - under their control of course, which means they have an agenda. The only way they can achieve that agenda is through chaos. This is why there are protests going on all over the world about anything and everything. We have George Soros' Open Society Foundation and the NGO's he supports to thank for them. He also supports Greta Thunberg.

Anyway this has nothing to do with fracking, which I think should stop. It's destroying the earth and making holes in the crust that can never be closed. When you see the tens of thousands of installations all over the western part of our country, it makes one sick.

Sorry Jeanette. That is not bourn out by science. There may be some natural warming going on but we are hurtling towards what Scientists are calling Earth's 6th Mass Extinction at a far faster rate than the natural world would do. Not only that but we became very aware very early on in Industrialisation the effect we were having.

Further your chosen position does nothing. That in itself is supporting ecoside.

puleese. Speak for yourself. I always spend time before I come to my decisions and read widely. I have been aware of this since the early 70's. I do accept though that denial comes from the inability to address reality and that such people cannot deal with facts, as we see throughout this thread. It is understandable that people would want to hide from the fear and grief the current situation stirs in them but the rest of us need to work to return the planet as best we can to those who need it so that they like you will have the opportunity of an old age.

The world will be around for 500 more years, but most of humanity won't be - and it will have nothing to do with what you're professing. Other than geological calamities from earthquakes and tidal waves, we are in WWIII. It started with Syria and if Turkey has its way it will go to the Aegean - and that will affect Russia's lifeline in the Mediterranean. Expect the worse!

Ponder on that for a while because it's something that your government and my government started and a lot more serious than the tales about man causing climate change.

Anyway, other than the earths core heating up, people have also noticed that the sun is not rising and setting at the same place as before. I read that the earth tilted slightly with the earthquake in Indonesia and again with the one in Japan. Wouldn't this put the northern and southern hemisphere closer to the sun in summer and further from the sun in the winter, and wouldn't that affect the climate regardless of how miniscule the tilting was?

Why aren't these things mentioned, yet anything that would hurt the world economy and cause chaos and protests are being mentioned?

Odd, you thinking extolling the virtues of man is “crapping”. Though, I’d wager Socrates did some “crapping” when a democracy force feed him hemlock, you know, for the “good of the all”.

Is that the best you can do?

By your own post, this measure was past eight years ago. What you conveniently omit is the fact that France has NO OIL DRILLING. 99% of its oil is imported and this vote was SYMBOLIC only.

Those eight years have been an symbolic for France's middle class..

In the past eight years, the French government has been increasing "carbon" taxes on fuel to punish French drivers--especially middle class and rural drivers--who have to drive to get to work.

Frenchmen are sick of environmental oppression which has made life difficult for them. They are not alone.

Farmers in Belgium and the Netherlands recently parked thousands of tractors to block roads to protest the punitive environmental measures that threaten to ruin them.

The ancient Greeks had gods for everything they idolized, whether it was agriculture, war, beauty, hunting, wisdom, poetry, nature, etc., etc. They missed out on science though, and since we hold it in such a high esteem today, maybe we should start giving him his proper reverence:

    Greek God of Science

Alexa if you want to worry about something, worry about this: Last week, Nato put in an order for 78 thousand winter gear. Putin said if they're thinking of invading Russia, they better remember Stalingrad.

Don't you find it strange that decades ago there were protests all over Europe about the arms build up, and yet today the media ignores it? As the media goes, so goes the people. It's total mind control.

    Now here's something to ponder.

"...as it was revealed in September, Russia is developing a new nuclear underwater weapon called Poseidon. The weapon would have two megatons of power that could create a “radioactive tsunami” capable of destroying coastal cities.

Russian armament is very reminiscent of a giant torpedo with unique characteristics. The Poseidon will be able to sail at a speed of 200 km per hour, being able to descend to a kilometer deep in the sea.

In addition, once fired by a submarine , Poseidon can perform various types of maneuvers to circumvent naval defenses for more than a week. The high-tech weaponry allows it to be used in coordination with other attack platforms..."

I know you're greek and this may come as a surprise to you but... Winter is coming... You know, cold weather, snow... 78,000 winter coat and pairs of boot wouldn't even cover the Canadian Armed forces needs.
Since Nato regulary train in all climates, buying winter gear is par for the course.

I also find it quite funny that a Greek would spend so much time sucking Puttin's russian dick on an american forum. Either the greeks are the lazyest people around with way too much time on their hand and should try to instead work on improving their failing economy instead of posting silly animated GIF files and reposting Pravda and RT articles. We know those "news" outlet exist. If we wanted to read their "article" we'd be going to the source directly.
