That's an excellent post. I think the OP doesn't even realize that the title of this thread exposes the Christian right for what they are: Fake Christians.

Instead of believing in Christ's message of love, forgiveness, compassion, inclusiveness, tolerance etc, they peddle the message of divisiveness and fear of the other. When fellow Americans have become the enemy to pray "against" there is a problem, but the problem are not the people they pray "against", it is the people who do the praying.

 

Let us pray together for moral bankruptcy, moral treason, misogyny, fecklessness, vulgarity, and the repudiation of all the basic values of Christianity.

Well, you can speak for yourself, but the polls still indicate that a majority of the American reactionary right wing still believes in birtherism.

Trump used it to build his cred with bigots in 2012. He knew that he could count on white resentment to propel him forward in 2016. He pivoted from birtherism to a new racial target, Latinos in 2016. But he also knew that he had planted the seeds of birtherism in the minds of Trumpster America. He just added another bogey man to his collection for them all to fear and resent.

Trump’s great skill is appealing to the fear, prejudices and ignorance of a large part of the population. These are the tools of every demagogue. And Trump does demogogary better than any politician alive (other than perhaps, Vladimir Putin).
