    • Investigation finds estimated 216,000 children suffered abuse
    • French Catholic Church showed 'cruel indifference' - report
    • Latest sex abuse scandal to rock the Roman Catholic Church
PARIS, Oct 5 (Reuters) - French clergy sexually abused more than 200,000 children over the past 70 years, a major investigation released on Tuesday found, and its authors said the Catholic Church had turned a blind eye to the 'scourge' for too long.

The church had shown "deep, total and even cruel indifference for years," protecting itself rather than the victims of what was systemic abuse, said Jean-Marc Sauve, head of the commission that compiled the report.

Most of the victims were boys, he said, many of them aged between 10 and 13. https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...rench-clergy-sex-abuse-since-1950-2021-10-05/

Investigations are saying due to the sheer number of victims the church likely did the same American church’s did and protected the perpetrators, moving them to new locations so they could continue to offend and making them inaccessible to justice.

Meanwhile these places of “worship” pay zero tax, their members say we must protect the unborn while they are literally funding the rape of living breathing children and also preach about family values.

Organized religion is a plague upon this Earth.

It also comes down to the figure that your random pedo priest abused on average 80 children. It also means it's just totally not plausible the other priests could not know one of their own was constantly absent and abusing some child. The entire church was in on it.

And so much for mocking Muslims for having a profit who married a child.

Most of the victims were boys yet no one blames the homos.

    Amazing.

That's because blaming entire groups for the actions of specific individuals is what idiots do.

Makes me ashamed of being catholic.

This is a big problem for the church. If they hadn't already failed to attract the younger generations to go to church, due to their archaic attitude, these child abuse scandals are going to turn even more people away from organized religion. The ones who were complicit in covering up and protecting these child molesters have only themselves to blame. In an attempt to protect the catholic church, they may have caused its downfall.

i'm familiar with that and the high rate of homosexual pedophiles when compared with the heterosexual population. Not total numbers, percentage. It is quite shocking when you do the math and see the ratio of pedophiles among those living the homosexual lifestyle.

What is amazing is that instead of denouncing homosexual pedophilia, the homosexual activists instead rage against those who ask questions about the high rate of homosexual pedophiles

Most of the victims were boys but most of the perpetrators offended against both sexes. Ignoring that parents are also more protective over their female children thus less chance of one of these men of god getting time with them…

How were priests living a homosexual lifestyle when they were supposed to be celibate and they offended against both sexes?

Loose grip on definitions or just bigotry?

Do you also feel the Catholic Church — which hid these men of god, often relocating them to other areas so they could continue to offend has any blame here — or is it easier for you to satiate your narrative by just blaming gay people?

Everyone has denounced pedophilia — you are just obsessed with the boys only while ignoring the girls. Almost like a narrative is at play.

Because the homos didn't do it. The priests did it and the Church enabled them. But now you'll see the conservative defenders of the Church come forward, bashing the homos to defend the Church.

Most gays would turn a priest in, and even quicker if he's a pedophile, which has NO relationship to homosexuality

I don't think Roman Catholicism will survive this century if they don't make major changes. Married priests, Women priests and gay married priests, all these things are becoming increasingly necessary along with an end to the abortion ban

Why would one blame “the homos” for what the Church has done? Or what pedophiles do?
Do you blame heterosexuals when girls are raped?

Its just as specific as a blanket "the homos"

The only difference is you belong to one group so you attack it mindlessly while over reacting to any criticism of the other..

Someone like myself can be critical of either group without mindlessly hating either. Try it.

Because you're using homosexual pedophilia to bash homosexuals. EVERYONE denounces pedophiles

"Most of the victims were boys yet no one blames the homos". Post 6

Not a direct defense but a blatant distraction. The CHURCH is the problem here.

We are literally in a thread about what the Catholic Church did. They did something similar in several third world nations and in America.

If you cannot comprehend the difference there is likely something else at play causing such a logical leap.

People who look the other way and those that commit the crimes are the problem.. Yet you blame anyone of the that particular faith including one who was very critical of these deeds.

One part of the Church and the leadership at that.. Not every member.. You are doing what you call out on others who blindly attack anyone gay after reading the OP..

You are just as much a part of the problem as they are.
