Kid could be scarred for life once his peers realize.

Dissuasion can cause harm as trying to make someone be something they are not can be harmful. Why not allow the child to be whatever they are whether it be straight, gay, bi, trans, etc.?

And this is the kids fault how? Are you arguing that a child should conform and be what they are expected to be rather than what they are out of fear of being ridiculed by their peers? I argue the breach of morality is upon the kids who would ridicule said a child for being different and I would also question the moral fiber of parents who teach intolerance of harmless action to their children.

Well, TG folks have a much lower life expectancy primarily due to suicide. While I don't really think they should be charged formally with child abuse, what they have done is allowed this child to destroy his future. Unfortunately, there is no law against that.

    - - - Updated - - -

Of course people should conform. It's common sense, and it's part of being in a society. People that don't conform tend to be miserable. (and yes, people who conform too much can be miserable as well. A balance between individuality and conformity has to be obtained.)

And what is the cause of the above?

I would say bias of a harmless action is the cause of the above.

Conformity flys in the face of the freedom that we espouse. As common sense is subjective, from my perspective it is common sense to allow personal freedom in a free society. As long as one does not harm another what does it matter how one identifies as? Conformity is the bane of freedom.

For those who base their self-esteem upon how others perceive them it is. But for free thinking individuals who have broke loose of the shackles of conformity it leads not to misery, but happiness and contentment.

I agree, so why not allow people the freedom to be what they are as opposed to being what society wants them to be? Why penalize harmless action?

If he was in his late teens or 20s... yes. The kid is 6. At this age they should encourage him to pick any gender neutral activity he wants, that's as far as the issue should go. Sheesh when I was six I wanted to be a unicorn:roflol:a purple one.
You mentioned in another post ( I think it was you) about not conforming, breaking the shackles. These parents are conforming, I wish more people could see that....its just a new way to conform.

...and yes this is only my opinion but its the right opinion. lol

You really have to ask? Do you truly think a 6 year old is capable of making a decision like this?
I've worked with children my whole adult life so I'll answer for you. No, they are not.

Sounds like a previous argument I made. You make an interesting argument that I cannot disagree with. But I do welcome a new approach as IMO the old one sucked.

    We all have the right opinion (-;

They do realise it, but a lust for grandstanding their progressive virtue outweighs the long term welfare of the kid. They literally need it to be true, in order to act out their fantasy about themselves. Make no mistake, this is ALL about the parents.

I think the decision happens absent of our will. When did you decide upon your sexuality? I never had a choice in the matter as my sexuality was predetermined and made absent my will. As a small child I gravitated towards boy activities and by around age 12 I noticed that girls had boobs and I wanted to grab them and stick my head between them. Why did I want to do these things? Hell if I know as the choice happened absent my will thus rendering it anything but a choice... perhaps more a compulsion or a drive than a choice.

Worse, it's the parents (and subsequently, pandering doctors) who teach the kid that they have the 'wrong' body. That thoroughly absorbed point will haunt those poor kids for the remainder of what are usually short lives. These people are the most dangerous kind of posers on the face of the planet.

The child is SIX years old, Rob. They don't know their arse from their elbow at that age. Do you seriously think these parents let that kid decide anything else more usually only decided by adults? I'd bet my house they don't. They only allow him to make this call because it SERVES THEIR EGOS. They get to demonstrate to all their friends that they're hip and progressive ... using the poor kid as pawn.

The high suicide and depression rates are because parents, friends, and doctors tell them they were born in the wrong body. Instead of teaching these kids to accept and love the body they're in, they're taught to hate it. That's enough to make even the hardiest soul crumple, eventually. These 'allies' are seriously dysfunctional human beings, with serious ego problems. They alone must carry the burden of responsibility for the suicides.

Doesn't matter, the point is that women unencumbered by societally imposed gender confusion naturally adopt an appearance that is attractive to men, who, when similarly unencumbered, are naturally disinterested in women who look like men.

This story, although it was written in the first person is most likely a work a fiction. The author is a writer of novels and posted this to a podcast dedicated to essays and stories about "Modern Love". The large time gap in the piece is a strong hint that this story is fictional.

Here is a link to the 'essay' site on which it first appeared.

Holy (*)(*)(*)(*) you and I are going to disagree? Damn, think this may be a first. (-:

Is sexuality a matter of choice? If not then their age is moot. Did you choose your sexuality? Mine was decided for me absent my will.

Absent of proof to the contrary why would I assume otherwise?

Source citation needed for the above claim.

Again source citation needed for the above claim.

You are awesome crank, one of my favorite posters, but to sway me you will need to present an objective body of research that backs your claims. I have done the research and you know what I found? Lots of PhD's that cannot agree. That being the case I default to my own anecdotal evidence and that being that the course ones sexuality takes happens absent their will.

Well said and I completely agree! Now we need to inform the ignorant so perhaps we can someday end the madness of societies need to make those who are different conform.

And men in Scotland adopted a skirt to attract females. And it works. Some like chicks in jeans, others don't.
