It cometh from Georgia, to name 1.

The government tries to bring the country's human rights record in line with the demands of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has stated that "sexual minorities are the same citizens as we are... [and that] the society will gradually get used to it." Moreover, recent street tensions in the country over LGBT rights have generated unprecedented media coverage and public discussion of this previously neglected topic.

The age of consent for both heterosexual and homosexual sex stands at 16 years of age as set by the Georgian Penal Code Articles 140 and 141

Since 2006, Article 2(3) of the Labor Code prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in employment relations.[8]

According to the amended Georgian Criminal Code (since 2012), committing crimes against individuals based on sexual orientation, among other things, is an aggravating factor that should result in tougher sentences during prosecution.[1]

On 2 May 2014, the Parliament approved an anti-discrimination law, banning all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. It took effect upon publication, on 7 May 2014.

Since 2008, transgender persons in Georgia can change documents and personal names only after having undergone sex reassignment surgery.[12]

Discrimination on the basis of gender identity is outlawed

The 2013 observance of International Day against Homophobia was also met with aggression. LGBT activists scheduled a rally to mark the occasion; however, it never took place. Thousands of anti-LGBT protestors, led by Georgian Orthodox priests, held a counter-demonstration. Protestors carried images of Jesus and signs reading "Stop promoting homosexual propaganda in Georgia" and "We don't need Sodom and Gomorrah." Some women waved symbolic bundles of nettle to "beat the gay people", including one woman who labeled the rally a "gay parade" held by "sick people ... against our traditions and ... morals" and proclaiming her readiness to fight. Despite a heavy police presence, the protestors stormed the barricades protecting the pro-LGBT rally. At least 28 people were slightly injured, with many trapped in buses and nearby shops and homes that were attacked by the protestors.

He said, "The right to gather peacefully and to freely express one's opinion is fundamental to our democracy. Every Georgian citizen benefits fully and equally from this right. Acts of violence, discrimination and restriction of the rights of others will not be tolerated, and any perpetrators of such acts will be dealt with according to the law."

According to social attitude questionnaires, homosexuals remained one of the most disliked groups in society – with most respondents preferring an alcoholic rather than homosexual colleague at work.[24] According to the same questionnaires, an estimated 91.5 percent of Georgians think that homosexuality is "completely unacceptable"

Today most of the population in Georgia practices Orthodox Christianity, primarily in the Georgian Orthodox Church whose faithful make up 82.4% of the population. Around 1% belong to the Russian Orthodox Church, while about 2.9% of the population follow the Armenian Apostolic Church (Oriental Orthodoxy), almost all of which are ethnic Armenians.[2] Adherents of Islam make up 10.7% of the population[3] and are mainly found in the Adjara andKvemo Kartli regions and as a sizeable minority in Tbilisi. Catholics of the Armenian and Latin churches make up around 0.8% of the population and are mainly found in the south of Georgia and a small number in Tbilisi. There is also a sizeable Jewish community in Tbilisi served by two synagogues.

On 4 January, Mikhail Saakashvili won the Georgian presidential election, 2004 with an overwhelming majority of 96 percent of the votes cast.

    -------------------------

Although over 87 percent of residents in Georgia oppose same gender LGBTQ 'displays' of their sexualities, The Government of Georgia is not hearing their voices. And although Mikhail Saakashvili won with over 96 percent of votes in 2004, with most of those voters being of the Orthodox Christianity, Russian Orthodox, Armenian Apostolic, and Catholics, Former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has stated that "sexual minorities are the same citizens as we are... [and that] the society will gradually get used to it." He was Prime Minister of Georgia from 25 October 2012 to 20 November 2013 and has a net worth of US$5.2 Billion (2015 Forbes).

The current President of Georgia is Giorgi Margvelashvili, who was sworn in on 17 November 2013. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgi_Margvelashvili

Why are the 91.5 percent of the total population, tax payers, and home owners and business owners' voices being disregarded?

Maybe a reason why is because there is a man who is stronger than the combined men of Leadership who is forcing all the Leadership men under some strong arm of his..

Even within the 'land of the free and home of the brave' many 'men' have shown cowardice to such a person with absolute denial... And why am I allowed to say this? Because it is happening..

Who has stood against such ways in the Upper Branches of Government? In either Judiciary, Executive or Legislative Branches?

I am not a 'man' to speak, most certainly I am not. But my pocket book account does not show the worth as they are worth either..

    Proverbs 18:11
"The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit."

The rich man's wealth is his strong city, his walls are high and he is in his 'own' conceit.

Conceit: 4906. maskith : conceit, imagery, picture, wish

An elected official after going through years of education only to have been 'bribed' by success and authority to begin doing things in his own imagery and pictures and wishes.

Government is not a private business and the citizens are not the merchandise...

91.5%??? Wouldn't that be the 'majority' of the land in which the President is representing for and by?

Unless Georgia, the Country, is a unitary republic with absolute powers...

Regardless of whether it is a dictatorship country or a democratic country or a Monarchy Country or Socialist Country.... should the world start preparing to do as the Leaders' own conceit, imagery and picture sees fit for all of its' citizens and all of mankind, desires?

I would call this 'hungry' for a continuation of rule despite the fact they age 1 year, year after year..

And should we sign up, put in our job applications, to support these Leaders' visions and pictures and imageries?

Killing off the old, enslaving the poor, selling them whiskey and taking their gold. Raping the women, taking the young all the while calling out Freedom and Justice?

Who, in God's Name, are we to do such things to God's Own Children???

These modern soldiers in blue don't even bring with them the name of God..

You know it's a dichotomy of sorts. If the white men never came to begin with, bringing with them the Name of God and The Holy Bible, we would have remained as what the world is trying to change everybody into..

But it's so strange how Europe could be so easily turning to the other side. I can understand how the U.S. might not want anything to do with The Holy Bible within it, but Europe from where the Explorers were sent forth from getting rid of their own heritage and legacy?? Are they becoming empty minded?

I don't understand, you think homos in Georgia should be locked up because some superstitious simpletons don't like them? Is Georgia a dictatorship or a constitutional republic?

Who cares what Neanderthals in the Country known as "Georgia" do or believe etc....
I live in America, that is why America has a Second Amendment, a Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
Political hacks want to turn America into a Country like Georgia or worse.
