America isn't a monolith son. The city of Houston and the state of Texas actually benefit from the nation's issues with gas prices.

A lot of desperate covid policies ended up backfiring hugely, the difference is that Biden doubled and tripled down on said policies and that's why we're here.

Bush crashed the economy in 2008? WTF dude? What was that housing/mortgage crisis thing again? Who was president when all those high risk mortgages were handed out like candy in order to make things equitable?

Are you aware that Obama became president in mid January of 2009?

Yes. That crash had absolutely NOTHING to do with anyone in power at that time since it started a decade+ ago when it was demanded that a certain demographic/class of people deserved to be home owners when it was a disaster waiting to happen. And it had little to do with race either.

No, they're suffering because it costs about $65 to fill the tank of a small four door sedan, and because the high fuel costs are increasing the already inflated price of all goods and most services.

Well, Democrats can stop the smart aleck elitist remarks like your example about venti espressos from Starbucks for a start. -- that only adds insult to injury. Big government isn't going to do anything helpful about it while Dems are in control. Biden's/Dems misguided energy policy is the first thing that needs to go.

The downward slide is the Republican progress to end our democracy.

Do you know what the price per barrel was before he posted that? It was in the negatives… people were losing jobs, I was one of them. When planes quit flying and people quit traveling to work it reduced oil prices to literally less than nothing. Trumps policies also are not to blame for todays oil prices, those are solely Biden’s. Trump is long gone.

You can’t honestly think Biden’s policies aren’t causing these prices do you? It was his policy to ban Russian oil. A policy which I support but you can’t honestly believe that had no impact on prices, can you? If he would have supplemented the losses with more drilling. Or maybe even just cut some red tape to make more incentive to drill on already owned permits.

Stopping the pipe line also was a slow down of future supply chains that would have had more supply.

I do not think Biden or Trump's policies are why we have high gas prices, I think that is a global supply issue, not an American issue causing that

but what I said is true, Trump worked to reduce the supply of oil during Covid to increase the price of oil, that is just a fact

"Stopping the pipe line also was a slow down of future supply"

nope, that oil will still come from Canada by Truck, just the truck drivers get to keep their jobs

we do not have a shortage of oil in America, in fact we are still exporting.... but the price of oil is set globally, that is the problem

It is a global market and you are very right. European policies that an oil and gas also effect our prices. But our contribution also effects the global market. Better supply chains also effect the market. Those actions I named most definitely would help in reducing the price.

The idea that Obama could have turned around the Bush Crash starting in mid January of 2009 is just plain stupid political BS.

oh, so now its not just we have to supply America with oil to get cheaper gas, we have to supply the entire world with our finite natural resource

    how about American first?

why do we have to pay more if we have enough?

    BREAKING NEWS:
Americans ship oil to contribute to the supply chain and have been for years.

not sure why that’s such a shock to you. It’s called competition. If we contribute more it forces others to lower prices to maintain market shares.
